“Coral islands” is a new location for naval battles in update 1.87. Let’s have a look!
In our new location “Coral islands”, fleet vessels and aircraft will battle for control over an atoll in the Pacific.
While light cruisers and destroyers will be engaging each other outside the ring of rocks, patrol and motor torpedo boats will be fighting in the centre of the atoll: aggressive maneuvers, artillery tracers and wakes of deadly torpedoes.
Let’s enjoy breathtaking views of the pacific nature and look forward to the new update 1.87 “Locked on!” - coming soon!

Can’t agree with you more! I’d greatly appreciate getting the IJN in the game.
There is a severe lack of "Poi" in Naval Forces. I'm sure Gaijin realizes no self-respecting naval combat sim is complete without a select few host vehicles to the power of Poi.....
Is the airport in the middle functional or only there as a detail?
There's another map that had an airport in the middle. I believe it's the convoy map and it didn't have any function.

Coral Island you say? Sounds a lot like coral sea! A battle in which the Japanese navy was involved. Coincidence? i think not!

Never thought that I would say it, but naval part of this game is far, far more arcade than World of Warships... If even something more arcade than Wargaming games is possible.
kstoff, in litteraly what way war thunder ships are as close to real life as possible as goes with planes world of warships tweaks these things on their ships damage HEALTH BARS reload (wt is based on real reload) speed armor visibilty THAT DETECTION SYSTEM and there are no internal compartments or anything like that please think before you type you have aboslutely no idea what you are talking about
Amazing. Another naval map with no original design. Just the same old bs. Another map with a circle of islands where DD's bottom out everywhere, but with a different look to it. Can you think of anything else more original, rather than taking the same map that is every single other naval map and putting a tropical skin on it? Jeez. This is why nobody plays naval anymore. The gameplay sucks, the maps are old, and the game mechanics in naval are stupid.

I don't know why you bother. Naval has been out for close to a year, and in that time you have fixed zero of the broken gameplay elements that people have reported, and thus Naval has pretty much died out. It's a beautiful map, but more maps is the last thing Naval needs right now
Navy isn't dead and it has only been 6 months since the Open Beta release. And the gameplay is fun. This seems more like a 'you' issue
Aeternull, No the gameplay is most definitely not fun at low tiers unless you have a DD you're just playing a game of rock, paper, scissors hoping that the next thing to come round the island doesn't A) have more guns than you or B) have bigger, faster firing guns than you because then you just die there is no strategy involved in PT boats it's just based on what you happen to be sailing and what the enemy happens to be sailing
I tried this map out and although it looks nice it’s not well suited for cruises it’s a very confining map not much room around the edges of the map
so like every Gaijin Map then? quite beautiful, absolutely shit design as a battlefield
