In update “Imperial Navy” we will add two new locations to the game - the aircraft location “Smolensk” and a naval location “Volcanic Island”.
Location : Volcanic Island
The naval location “Volcanic Island” - is an archipelago of small rocky islands concentrically diverging from the centre of the location where there is one of the capture points. Inspiration for this map was taken from the seascape, rocks, vegetation and nature around New Zealand.
Location : Smolensk
The location for aircraft battles “Smolensk” has been created on with reference to aerial photography of Smolensk and its environs in autumn 1941. Here, during the Battle of Smolensk, even with the high cost in human and material losses for the Red Army, it was possible to disrupt the “Barbarossa” plan and to prevent the breakthrough of the German army towards Moscow.

Very nice! Always good to see some added variety. Would love to see some more dynamic aspects in Air RB. Maybe where the main objective is to protect flights of bombers or attackers, or maybe for attackers to knock out supply depots.
War Thunder: Historical Accuracy - 9/10! Geologically Accurate Stratification of Island Volcanoes 0/10. Tsk tsk. Who thought Volcanoes should have those sedimentary/metamorphic layers?
"Volcanic Island" Instant curiosity.
why such crappy aeroplanes, what about the Mig-21s and F4s
Do you guys plan on adding any realistic naval maps? The one thing stopping me from playing naval is how fake the maps look.
Come on... the maps look great... and if you dont play naval... how can you tell how the maps look? a picture is one thing... play them is another thing
Both look nice :) Good job Gaijin.
Nice, Smolensk will cover air battles for that scenario in ww mode. Hope it's a large map! Now make ground force maps that are not arenas and have lopsided positions to inscreaee strategic value........also fix the decals please. I don't want them falling off during battle and fretting about it when I should be fretting about the kv-1. Just over the hill
