In update 1.77 “Advancing Storm” we are updating the sounds for all the MLRS vehicles in the game. Recently, we talked about the major work we have done on the sounds for ground vehicle weapons and the whole sound panorama in ground battles in the upcoming update 1.77 “Advancing Storm”.
Today we would like to let you hear for yourself the reworking of sounds for rocket launcher systems. We have completely reworked the sound of the launching of rockets to make it more realistic. We have updated the sounds for the launching of rockets in all vehicles with MLRS including the famous Katyusha, the deadly Calliope and the magnificent Panzerwerfer 42.
You will be able to compare the sound of your Katyusha which you know from the military newsreels with the in-game sounds very soon in War Thunder update 1.77 “Advancing storm”!

how nice, keep up the good work! May I suggest after this sound/dirt/puddle + modern MBT patch you go for GAMEPLAY updates, like Rework how you matchmake vehicles, REMOVE B.R! year of service! and put Maps for different years! and rework match objectives, bigger maps, AI objectives for ground and MORE for air, several bases to bomb, get rid of Cap zones, Boring AF! introduce Infantry and have them man, MG and Anti-tank nests for us to clear in ground etc etc!
King Tigers vs M4 shermans hmmm, balanced!
k but the real questions are: will there be an equal opportunity chance for players to get the katyusha in the future? will framgentation damage be made more realistic (over-penetrates)? Will HE shock damage be made more realistic (hull break only works if target can be penetrated and it doesn't stun crew)? etc.
Hello, the Katyusha is not such a great vehicle, it used to be pretty hard to use, now it's a little bit better with the custom sights. Anything usually kills you, before you even get a chance to use it. You're really not missing too much here. It looks cool though.
Tupoun, It was great when it fist came out but when they changed the suspension, that's when things started to go down hill
This is fantastic. Awesome work, Gaijin. o7 The smoke effects could definitely use an overhaul, too. Will you be improving them in the near future? Maybe even in update 1.77?
sound of the orchestra <3
Sounds the same.
I appreciate all the development, but I would much more enjoy some historical missions for tanks (as frequent special events perhaps), and ev. new maps, much more rather than sounds most of us will stop noticing after a few hours.
This is a multiplayer game really, if you want a campain you shoild look somewhere else. They said awhile ago they are working on it but its not a priority.
look on war thunder live some of the missions you can found there are very nice
what we need is a new way of aiming rockets to be effective.
If you have a Katyusha, this is what you want: https://live.warthunder.com/feed/sights/?q=#b_13n or https://live.warthunder.com/user/B0T/ or https://live.warthunder.com/post/679530/ru/
Forgot about this one too, might be the best one: https://live.warthunder.com/user/Camilot1/
U thought they sound exactly the same as what we currently have? lul
wow
what about the Panzerwerfer sound? did it got an update too?
Can you read the short article. I am sure we mentioned something that sounds like Panzerwerfer 42, but maybe you are talking on different Panzerwerfer ;)
Stona_WT, ah thanks for the reminder, i over-read that part, anyways thank you ^^
