We present to you a new location for combined battles - “Sweden”! It will appear in the game with the release of the update 1.97 “Viking Fury”.
Especially for the release of the Swedish ground forces research tree our artists have created a new location for combined battles which we have named “Sweden”.
The source of the inspiration came from one of Stockholm’s districts - Gamla Stan (“old town”). In the new location you will see a small Scandinavian town with unique architecture and the Northern European aesthetics from the middle of the 20th century. Battles will take place in the vicinity of the city park: along the city embankment, in small blocks with traditional buildings, in green avenues and on tram rails, in the pedestrian area of the park with rotunda gazebo in the centre.
We tried to maintain a balance between short and medium distance fights as well as to provide each capture point with a large number of possible entrances. As for any city map for combined battles aircraft will have to work from low altitudes for the most accurate bombing and rocket strikes.
We will discover the picturesque streets of “Sweden” soon in War Thunder update 1.97. See you on the battlefield!

Another unrealistic "World of Fantasy Tanks" map to add into Ban/Dislike/Instant bailout -list. There are tons of real tank battle locations to model instead!
thanks gaijin, the map looks great!
I like City maps :D nice work
Another discount copy-paste map design from the UNNAMED other game to add into ban/dislike/bail-out list. There are lots of REAL tank battle locations, add those instead!
i love city maps, thank you gaijin!
As someone who has lived his entire life in Stockholm, i can tell you that this does not even remotely resemble the landscape or architecture of Stockholm. They would have been better off calling it 'Kiruna' or some other town that is in the mountainous regions
I usually hate pure city maps but this looks kinda neat. Looks similar to Advance to the Rhine, but with less close range and more medium-long
well done guys
As a Swede I have something to say. There are countless, wonderfully beautiful locations around the entire country, with forests, lakes and interesting terrain to base a tank map on or at least get some inspiration from. You know, the kind of terrain them Swedish tanks were made to tackle and fight in. And what we get is a made up city map the likes of you see in that other tank game, with generic storefronts and no resemblance whatsoever to anything I've ever seen in Sweden... Such a shame.
Oh this looks so cool!!! Ily gaijin
