We present to you a new location for combined battles - “Sweden”! It will appear in the game with the release of the update 1.97 “Viking Fury”.
Especially for the release of the Swedish ground forces research tree our artists have created a new location for combined battles which we have named “Sweden”.
The source of the inspiration came from one of Stockholm’s districts - Gamla Stan (“old town”). In the new location you will see a small Scandinavian town with unique architecture and the Northern European aesthetics from the middle of the 20th century. Battles will take place in the vicinity of the city park: along the city embankment, in small blocks with traditional buildings, in green avenues and on tram rails, in the pedestrian area of the park with rotunda gazebo in the centre.
We tried to maintain a balance between short and medium distance fights as well as to provide each capture point with a large number of possible entrances. As for any city map for combined battles aircraft will have to work from low altitudes for the most accurate bombing and rocket strikes.
We will discover the picturesque streets of “Sweden” soon in War Thunder update 1.97. See you on the battlefield!

Guys, we need rural maps, no one likes this urban shit.
next leave map :D :D
im not even swedish and i know this map does not look like sweden
Can we not have a city map for once? Atleast 50/50
Tanks wouldn't go into a city without infantry, so agree that there are too many cities, not enough open country, which is where tanks do best. Like Kursk.
What if... We could import player made maps that are good, put them in rotation... :flusteredemoji:
What's with the mountains... there are no such topographical features around Stockholm...
Looks nice. Any chance we can start to see the bigger version of maps for top tier though? Would be very cool to have fights going on over control of the hill overlooking the city, or over a bridge leading to one of the islands. A lot of the other maps have a lot of unused map too that would be much more suitable for upper tiers. Seems odd you've done the work for these bigger maps then only utilised a small part of them.
I like how the map's name is straight to the point about this patch, doesn't put on airs about things.
where is Zlatan statue? :)
he wasnt alive in the 1940's
In Malmö... about 500km south of where this is supposed to be depicting.
