We present to you a new location for combined battles - “Sweden”! It will appear in the game with the release of the update 1.97 “Viking Fury”.
Especially for the release of the Swedish ground forces research tree our artists have created a new location for combined battles which we have named “Sweden”.
The source of the inspiration came from one of Stockholm’s districts - Gamla Stan (“old town”). In the new location you will see a small Scandinavian town with unique architecture and the Northern European aesthetics from the middle of the 20th century. Battles will take place in the vicinity of the city park: along the city embankment, in small blocks with traditional buildings, in green avenues and on tram rails, in the pedestrian area of the park with rotunda gazebo in the centre.
We tried to maintain a balance between short and medium distance fights as well as to provide each capture point with a large number of possible entrances. As for any city map for combined battles aircraft will have to work from low altitudes for the most accurate bombing and rocket strikes.
We will discover the picturesque streets of “Sweden” soon in War Thunder update 1.97. See you on the battlefield!

Nice big map, but only going to make it into the game with a 5 square block area to play on...

Can we expect bundle premium this weekend?
No premium for ships i hope. Bored of those BiG NaVal sHip To AvOid GrinDiNg (And learning gamemod) ! And OP ship too.
Bombe18, They have recently stated that there will never be any bundles for ships.
Looks good! However, I can't decide: Is this map will be for tank battles or for naval battles.
cant wait to kill some swedes
why do half the sidealks look like they haven't been maintained for centuries?
Because they're basing their appearance to how things look like in russia.
tfuj
dev server open today maybe :)
That map should be called Swedistan. More historically accurate.
Only according to racist inbreds...
Maybe map for top tier with longe range engagements? Not a map where u drive for 5 mins to fight on 20 meters?
You know what's funny? I still remember when they implemented Maginot Line... people were whining about it being another massive map with loooong driving times to get to the action. Gaijin really can't win no matter what kind of map they implement.
OddballE8, yeah, i like both long range maps where armour can matter more, and close up fights, both are fun. and i still do wish to see more of both. but some people just have to rage no matter what gaijin does.
