We present to you a new location for combined battles - “Sweden”! It will appear in the game with the release of the update 1.97 “Viking Fury”.
Especially for the release of the Swedish ground forces research tree our artists have created a new location for combined battles which we have named “Sweden”.
The source of the inspiration came from one of Stockholm’s districts - Gamla Stan (“old town”). In the new location you will see a small Scandinavian town with unique architecture and the Northern European aesthetics from the middle of the 20th century. Battles will take place in the vicinity of the city park: along the city embankment, in small blocks with traditional buildings, in green avenues and on tram rails, in the pedestrian area of the park with rotunda gazebo in the centre.
We tried to maintain a balance between short and medium distance fights as well as to provide each capture point with a large number of possible entrances. As for any city map for combined battles aircraft will have to work from low altitudes for the most accurate bombing and rocket strikes.
We will discover the picturesque streets of “Sweden” soon in War Thunder update 1.97. See you on the battlefield!

Corridors! Yaaayyy! /s
As long as Gaijin doesn't fix the certain broken ATGM-armed Helicopter mechanics, a city map doesn't sound bad after all...
We need to take the fights into downtown Tokyo or Modern day Hawaii!
damn tht would be cool
Reminds me of Himmelsdorf of World of tanks lol
Actually, that a prety good map, but only if it's both city and large, not like the 300m² berlin where you don't aim above 800m. It allow to hide from pesky choppers, and allow them to play close quarter and even to cap (please make a 20m hovering cap possible). @Disconnec83 , are building falling apart when shot or are they like the poland ones?
I love the details of the shops like "Svensk Bulle"
Looks good, hopefully will have protected spawns like the american desert map
this map is soooooooo cool tnx gaijin
This is cool but I had liked to see a Swedish country side map as well, with like big mountians, pinetree forests and valleys. (Large map) as MBT need bigger maps so there is somewhat skills to play them. But a new IFV map is cool to.
Ah, a fine addition to the list of maps I will have to constantly cry to be removed from SB lineups because they're not tank country. How hard is it to make a nice large map with just rolling hills and a couple of patches of more or less dense forest?
