In the upcoming update 1.77 “Advancing Storm” for War Thunder, fans of British aviation may look forward to the release of updated high quality models for both currently present Spitfire Mk.V versions in the game. As a bonus, two further modifications of the aircraft will become available to all War Thunder pilots. Let’s take a closer look!
The Spitfire Mk.V can easily be considered a War Thunder veteran. Being part of the game from the very beginning, this machine, like a number of others, has been put through countless aerial engagements over its five-year service life and the scars of battle have slowly started to show on the old Spitfire. With that said, we have decided to rework the models of the Spitfire Mk.Vb/trop and Mk.Vc/trop and give them both new, high-quality textures and models that meet our latest quality standards for vehicle models. In comparison to the current in-game models, the new ones received a much higher polygon count as well as updated HD textures that bring them in line with the other recently updated Spitfire models. However, it is said that a picture is worth a thousand words, so take a look at the renders of the updated models below and see for yourself what a stunning work our 3D artists have done.
In addition to the updated tropical models, update 1.77 “Advancing Storm” will introduce two further modifications of the fifth major Spitfire variant, namely; the standard, non-tropical versions B and C. These, in comparison to the ones already present in the game, do not possess special modifications that optimize their use in tropical conditions. One such modification and the most notable one, is the dust filter located under the aircraft’s nose. This feature is removed from the non-tropical versions and in turn, offers a slight increase in performance due to the savings in weight and reduced drag. The good old Mk.Vb/trop will also appear as a new premium vehicle in the Italian aviation tree at rank III.
Meet the new and improved Spitfire Mk.V models in the aerial battles of War Thunder with the upcoming update 1.77 “Advancing Storm”. Don’t forget to stay tuned to the news to keep up to date with the latest developments within the War Thunder universe. See you in battle!

hope we will get the Spitfire Mk IXc of Pierre Clostermann from the No 602 Squadron "City of Glasgow", Royal Air Force, 1944 one day for the Froggies!
Nice... but I am confused: My game claims that the versions in game are Vb/trop and Vc... is the one currently in game missing the /trop from its' name or is there an error in this new article???
Very nice. It has been a long wait for a "proper" Vb. Good job on this one I have to admit.
Question... « In comparison to the current in-game models » It means that the vehicles in this game doesnt get Texture upgrades??
Awesome! I saw the non-tropical version at the museum at Paine Field a few weeks ago, glad to see I can actually fly it!
Question, so if we already have both the Mk Vb and Mk Vc Trop, will their models be turned into non-tropical ones? Or are the non-tropical variants entirely new aircraft we have to research?
New aircraft
mprich, they change the current Vc to Vc/trop as its supposed to be, u know the current Vc has the trops Vokes filter
Will you give the german tanks the (In war used) sabot rounds/Treibspiegelgeschosse or at least the AP-HE-DS for the 128mm?

Can u like idk make planes and tanks actualy earn lions? And maybe make P47s take off from an airfield?Theyre fighters and u say theyre "interceptors" same with RP 3 rockets seal clubing germans because they dont have any good CAS and basicly everythyng british has RP 3 rockets so can u like remove them from most of the planes?Or atleast make it cost 700 SP so its harder to mow the germans?
