Dagor Engine 5.0 — a new War Thunder game engine version will bring improved graphics and effects, fog, puddles, mud, realistic landscapes and awesome sound.
Graphics
New Landscape
A new level of detail for surfaces in all ground locations. The landscape has become more photorealistic, and vehicles suspension will work on lesser uneven ground like ruts, features on dirt roads, and broken ground..
Illumination and anti-aliasing
Thanks to new lighting and shadowing technologies, the visuals have become more volumetric and natural. Pay attention to anti-aliasing as well - how building sides, grass, leaves and other smaller details are rendered in motion.
Weather effects
Rain interacts with the environment - you can see water flowing down roofs, and mud and puddles appear on the roads. The fog drifts low over the surface, clouds float across the skies and the sun also moves from East to West in an astronomically correct way, according to the date and time of a battle and geographical latitude of a location.
Not only the owners of powerful computers will be able to see the improved picture, but even those who use “UltraLow” quality settings. In Dagor Engine 5.0 we have worked hard on the optimization.
Sound
Great visuals need impressive sound!
Close your eyes and listen, you will find yourself in a real battle. Gunshots, explosions, aircraft roaring above - they spread wide and sound differently depending on a players position, distance and environment - whether it is in the forest, field or urban area. Empty casings dropping, loading mechanisms and a breech shutter sounds will bring even more immersion.
New tanks and aircraft
About 20 new vehicles
Leopard 2K
Speed and power - a classic formula for the Leopard. Accurate weapon is combined with powerful 1500 h.p. engine!
Т-64 B
Martin-Baker M.B.5
A British prop fighter that proved that even in the early jet era old school can still impress.
Lа-200
Soviet jet interceptor, fast and beautiful. Capable of traveling over 1000 km/h. Bombers, take heed!

C'mon we need another aircraft Devblog!
you talk about this as if it's easy for a none continue paying player to unlock all the new toys, just because it's aircraft suddenly, and not tanks. By the end of the day this game without a lot of cosmetics for income is really missing out that opportunities while blocking a big part of the playerbase to actually play the hot new thangs
Couldn't agree more
Where are the jetbombers/jets ? i wanne hear the sound of the vulcan?!?
Last I heard the Vulcan was being built by a player(former Tech Mod). I would need to check to see if he is still doing it.
KnightoftheAbyss, That usermade model is not in the revenue share program and I would rather not see it in the game. If added, the Vulcan would spawn at 3.5k, rush to the bases then the airfield using its extremely high top speed for a jet bomber of its time. Next? Match ends in 2 minutes. Hell no, that would be a lot worse than the TU-4.
All those 1960' jets looks exiting.Oh wait yet again nothing really new for the Jet community. Shame only tanks are worked on.
It's a business, if most people want and pay for tanks it's what we'll get. Also tier VI jets are much more complicated than composite armour which was the great hurdle to develop tier VI tanks. I for one, welcome our new tank overlords.
AKULA95723, Im sorry but tanks from 1980' should have better CAS than 1950' jets.
there better be german planes in the "20 new vehicles" or gulag
or the dev will go to camping in poland.......
gib japan vehicles plox
Looking good...any news on the dev server opening?
Not yet, but we'll post an announcement on the forum when it's time.
Ouiche, there is a rule for participate in dev server?
> ~20 new vehicles. Don't worry Freedomboos, your Abrams may still make it yet. And the He-177 too.
So far the Abrams has arrived. So they can shut up now.
Still waiting for new Italian aircraft, approaching on a year later...
