The German La-5FN Temporarily Returns to Mark the La-5’s First Flight!

On March 21st 1942, the La-5 — a Soviet plane capable of fighting the Germans on equal terms — took to the skies for the first time. It quickly became one of the main aircraft that defended Soviet skies. In September 1944, Germany captured a fully functional La-5FN and studied it at Rechlin airfield.
The La-5FN (Germany) is temporarily available for Golden Eagles!
In honor of the La-5’s first flight, the premium German La-5FN is available for 5,250 Golden Eagles.
When: From March 21st (11:00 GMT) until March 24th (11:00 GMT).
Where: Germany > Aviation > Premium vehicles.
About this aircraft
- The La-5FN got its name from the more powerful M-82FN engine installed in this modification of the aircraft. The La-5FN is slightly slower than the German Fw 190 A and Bf 109 G, but demonstrates great flight characteristics at low altitudes. For weaponry, this aircraft features two 20 mm ShVAK cannons with 340 rounds, great for taking out enemy aircraft.

Nein.
After all these years, I only just now realized how Soviet airplanes have much less cooling air intake for their engines than most of the rest of the world. Having a largely colder environment obviously prioritizes warming the engine more than cooling it. Makes you wonder if some aircraft which initially suffered overheating (Fw190A-0 for example) might have got a better reception in the USSR.
Every year I have passed on this aircraft being a vehicle collector myself looks like I'm going to have to do it this year. Was hoping on its release there would be that 30% discount like on a lot of the premiums that have been dropping lately. Take my money snail!!! It's a very unique vehicle for the German lineup that's for sure
is this worth buying? Im new in the game
Yes, buy it
Depends how much skill you have. If you are new new, I would suggest to check Starter Packs in our store. La-5FN is great fighter aircraft, but require some more than basic knowledge if you want to have good battles in it :)
On the topic of reruns, will the Japanese Fw 190 A-5 ever come back or has it been vaulted forever like the Ki-10-II-C?
Oh that's very interesting love to see that the Japanese lineup
Are we going to see the He-217 return? I don’t know much about it historically, is it like a paper vehicle or just a premium being removed to make way for others?
