We do not often introduce completely new nations into War Thunder. So you might have questions. We tried to answer the most common ones here:
When will the closed test of the Italian aircraft tree start and how it will be done?

Many of you are already familiar with the procedure for the implementation of new vehicles from a new nation into the game: all Italian aircraft will be opened from the beginning for research and purchase for “Tester” (read below on how to become a tester). As the tests are conducted, players will regularly get the opportunity to research and purchase a few new vehicles. The list of the vehicles will be published in the news.
How do you become a tester?

Detailed information on the various methods will be published later, but you can currently purchase pre-order packs, which in addition to Italian premium machines, include Test status and unique pre-order bonuses.
Some Italian aircraft are already represented in the German tree. What will happen to them?

They will remain with those players who have researched and purchased them and will still be in the German tree. Also, the modules and improvements for those aircraft will remain tied only to them. For other players they will just disappear and their new representations will appear in the Italian tree.
Will the Italian premium vehicle packs stay available for purchase in the shop?

They will be available to purchase for some time, but after update 1.69 is released. Special pre-order bonuses, like decals and titles will however disappear from these packs.

I've been waiting for the Italian tech tree for so long and I just want to say thank you! I'm very glad to see them coming and I am very excited to grind for the G.91.
I hope that's not the only Italian jet we get, I bought the advanced pack knowing Italy has some interesting options.

coolcaleb519, All that purchased the packs as it has been explained 1,000s of times now, and if you READ the details in the Naval CBT section and or Past Dev Blogs.... You will get the items that you paid for after CBT has finished... you may get GEs early, but the Boats and or other enclosed items will be given after CBT
Are you guys seriously going to give japan tree just... 1 ... single tank ? I mean there are more than enough tanks you could adding to fill the gap ? like the gap of destroyer line ! I have a few tanks. First, the Ho-Ni II. Armed with 10.5 cm howitzer gun (the gun barrel doesn't seem to short meaning it capable of penetrating light tanks (we have first and third Ho-Ni but second was skipped? hmmm). Second, Chi-Ha 12cm long barrel naval gun. An chi-ha rearmed with naval artillery 120mm gun.
This 120mm gun can be found onboard the Japanese cruisers such as Aoba, Furutaka or Takao class.
H3NT4i_NEKO, The 120mm Chi-Ha is already in game. as for the Ho-Ni, there are enough derp guns in the game, it would be low tier I would rather they add a tier 4 TD before that.
So PlayStation accounts will be screwed out of the pre-order again. Do you even value us at all? Combined with the utter unplayablity of AF on the PS, I know the answer. The new content is awesome, but pointless if it cannot be used.
It can be used... you either buy the pack(s) and test them for bugs, or wait until they have been checked for bugs.
How many times do they need to say this: The Playstation stuff isn't controlled by them, it's up to the playstation store if they want to put the pre-order up for sale.

Why such hype for it? It has just a little more horse power thats all, same chief we already have.
Will there be another dev server for people who pre-ordered to play on before the release?
Probably not. The dev server is just for people who want to test and find bugs before release. The pre-order for Italian planes doesn't means dev server access or anything. What will happen is when the patch drops, only those who have purchased a pack will be able to play the Italians where the people who haven't won't have access to anything except perhaps reserve vehicles. Any progress on the dev server is never saved.
The CBT for "Regia Aeronautica" Tree will take place on the Live Server, it will not take place on the Dev Server... the Dev Server is a kind of first look and a good place to catch early bugs and or Feedback from the players only
question somehwat related to this, will the US branch get more F-84 variants, seeing as how the one Italy gets is better than the one that the US has in terms of payload, asking because the model is already made only needs a new camouflage, no ? Similar question for the G-91/R3 for germany in the future, but that would also need some changes to the model. I know I know, i'm getting ahead of myself :P
