The IT-1 was the first and last fully missile-equipped tank in the USSR whose missile armament was its primary offensive power. As a means of destroying enemy armoured vehicles, the IT-1 (Istrebitel’ tankov pervyj, EN: Tank Destroyer One) has fifteen ZM7 ‘Drakon’ anti-tank guided missiles (ATGMs).
The IT-1 was based on the T-62 main battle tank, but the chief designer L. N. Kartsev installed a missile launcher for ATGMs in the cast turret instead of a classic tank gun. In 1968, the vehicle was put into series production with the aim of reinforcing Soviet Army divisions in critical armoured approach routes from potential opponents. As a result, 110 IT-1 tanks were produced up to 1970, most of which served in battalions near the western border of the USSR.
The tank’s hull is solidly armoured: the T-62 base and semi-spherical cast turret create good sloping angles for the armour plates that in many cases protect the missile tank from being destroyed by the first hit. For our IT-1 model, we completely recreated the T-62 chassis and the complex reloading animation of the ATGM launcher – check out how the mechanism works in our video.
The IT-1 will be a top-range vehicle in the Soviet SPG line. The T-62 chassis allows the tank to be among the first to take advantageous positions on the battlefield, and to quickly change its position in the heat of battle. The vehicle has no cannon, but its powerful second-generation ATGMs can destroy any target with one direct hit on a critical section of the opponent. The tank’s ammunition complement of 15 missiles is enough for intensive combat both in a breakthrough and in an ambush.
The IT-1 awaits you in the Soviet armour hangar in War Thunder 1.59 "Flaming Arrows", and it has every chance to become a hugely popular tank in high-rank battles. See you on the battlefields of War Thunder.

WOW this one looks very nice, with T 62's chassis and hopefully moused guided missile mode in RB! Thanks DEVs for great work, b - But where is T 62? D: (or T 64... maybe? Pretty please?)
Based on what Ive seen gaijin is planning to add post korean war tanks and perhaps planes in the future, see the example of guided missiles and mostly this tank above. the chassis is of a 1961 MBT, do you really believe that they wont add the T-62 in the game? and because it is a more modern tank, they will add other more modern tanks and planes, we will just have to wait a bit longer.
I mean yes we know T 62 was confirmed, along with T 55 (consider it as ultimate T 54), but would be nice if Gaijin could introduce T 64 and T 72 in game, (btw T 64 is soviet ELITE tank, just like T 10 M while T 72 is for majority of ground forces). Yes T 64 is more powerful than T 72 (T 72 was based on some elements of T 64).
Yeah, I agree with Berkolok. Why you buff about crew survivability. That we didn't expect from you. That's the first thing. Second is, if this keep going, it will be nothing but rocket/missile war. Adding rocket tanks was a good idea, but now it's popping out like popcorns. There's many space to cover in researchable tank tree, put them first. Do what you want, but don't make it any messier.
Soviet bias! Russian bias! Delete this perverted tank from the game now!
The British have one that fires and that shoots 3 missiles without having to reload, I think that they are more bias in this case
How is this Russian bias if U.S., Germany, and Britain all also have ATGMS that are all better than the IT-1?
you already revealed this tank!
I would love to see the P. 1000 Ratte, but that won't happen Gaijin, could you possibly consider the T-100 or the KV-1K? The KV-1K would be a good rocket tank to play around with! :)
Maybe Katyusha is better :)
How do you plan to implement minimum range for radio guidance system - depend on source it is quoted between 300 to 500m (more during night time)?
has b-29 and tu-4, where's g10n1?
nice reload animation! *voice goes louder* if you guys would just plz add the bloody retreactible animation for the F***** sperry turret on the b-24
"Why are you adding ATGMs (new physics with rockets) if the current physics engine is not even complete?" I have had many instances where my round should penetrate but it does not and where my tank does not bounce when it should. Oh! and . . . on the subject of missiles . . . Can the hunter have its unguided rocket pods? :D
Does dat mean that there will be a MBT tank in the future update?
