HSTV-L: View of Tomorrow
The HSTV-L, standing for High Survivability Test Vehicle Lightweight, is an American experimental tank, developed and built in the late 1970’s for the purpose of testing new concepts in tank design. The futuristic-looking HSTV-L will soon make its way onto the battlefields of War Thunder, arriving in the game with the upcoming major update!
Char D2: Slow Advance
The Char D2 is a French interwar medium tank, developed by Renault as a cheaper alternative to the heavier and more expensive Char B1. After having seen fierce action during the Invasion of France in 1940, the Char D2 will soon fight under the flag of the republic once more on the virtual battlefields of War Thunder in the upcoming major update!
The MS-15: Italian navy coming to War Thunder!
Today we want to present one of the vessels that will be introduced as part of the Italian naval research tree for the next major update - the torpedo boat MS-15.
ZSD-63: twin-barrel mower
The ZSD-63 is a Chinese SPAA, developed on the basis of the Type 63 APC in the late 80’s to address the urgent need for a modern mobile anti-air vehicle. Coming to War Thunder with the upcoming major update!
The Neustrashimy destroyer: a “superdestroyer”
The Neustrashimy destroyer opens up new horizons for naval battles in the USSR’s naval tech tree. It is a next-generation ship, in relation to the Soviet destroyers already present in the game.
AH-64 Apache: The Rotary Chieftain
The AH-64 Apache represents one of the most widely used and recognizable attack helicopters in the world. Coming with update ‘Viking Fury’, War Thunder pilots will have the chance to take control of several variants of one of the most legendary flying machines from recent military history.

New mechanics for pilots: ground target search radar, flares and automatic correction for target marker (ballistic calculator).
Radkampfwagen 90: A leopard on wheels
The Radkampfwagen 90 is a German experimental wheeled tank, developed during the 1980’s to equip the Bundeswehr with a highly mobile and well armed combat vehicle. Tankers will soon have the chance to field test the Radkampfwagen 90 on the virtual battlefields of War Thunder in update 1.97 ‘Viking Fury’!
Swedish Ground Vehicles: Pvrbv 551
The Pvrbv 551 is a Swedish anti-tank missile carrier, developed in the early 80’s. Arriving in War Thunder with update 1.97 ‘Viking Fury’, the Pvrbv 551 will await all eager tankers at the higher ranks of the new Swedish ground forces tree coming to the game very soon!
Swedish Ground Vehicles: U-SH 405
The U-SH 405 is an experimental tank destroyer, developed by the Swedish Landsverk company in cooperation with Daimler-Benz in the late 1950’s. Soon, tankers will have the chance to meet this highly interesting machine on the War Thunder battlefields in update 1.97 ‘Viking Fury’!
ZTZ96A: Can take a punch!
The ZTZ96A is a further development of the Chinese ZTZ96 MBT, which made its first public appearance in the late 2000’s. Also coming as one of many new interesting additions with update 1.97, the ZTZ96A will offer Chinese tank commanders in War Thunder a more advanced version of their existing top tier MBT!
HMS London: Anticipated Calibre
HMS London is a heavy cruiser of the British County-class, second group, designed and built in the interwar years around the restrictions imposed by the Washington Naval Treaty. Captains may look forward to the arrival of HMS London as the first 8’’ gun-armed British cruiser to make its way to War Thunder as part of the upcoming update 1.97 “Viking Fury”!
Saab J35D Draken - The Supersonic Kite
The J35D - a Swedish double delta wing jet fighter of the late 1950s, featuring excellent maneuverability and a powerful engine, allowing it to reach supersonic speeds.
L-62 ANTI II: Finnish Choice
The L-62 ANTI II is a Swedish SPAA design, developed in the early 1930’s by the AB Landsverk company based on their L-60 light tank. It will be one of many interesting units awaiting tankers in the Swedish ground forces tree, coming to War Thunder as part of update 1.97!
New location “Denmark”
We present to you “Denmark”, a new location for aircraft battles in War Thunder. it will be added to the rotation of maps for aircraft battles with the release of update “´1.97 “Viking Fury”!
CV 90105 TML with Pre-Order Bonuses
The CV 90105 TML is an experimental light tank, developed in the mid 1990s as part of a joint venture between the Swedish Hägglunds and French GIAT companies. A new Soviet top rank tank with good frontal protection and guided munitions will burst into high rank battles with the release of the War Thunder update 1.97 “Viking Fury”!

The English Electric Lightning is a British supersonic Cold War jet fighter and remains to date one of the few British domestically built aircraft, capable of reaching Mach 2.
