A top-tier light armoured vehicle for British tankers – the Warrior IFV with its multipurpose 30 mm cannon and MILAN ATGM
The FV510 infantry fighting vehicle was developed as part of a program to create a modern IFV for the British army at the end of the 70’s. The vehicle went into series production in 1986. The vehicle was equipped with 30 mm gun, fed by magazines of three shells each. This gun was designed to destroy lightly armoured vehicles with maximum accuracy. For the Desert Storm operation, the Warriors were equipped with Chobham passive armour – add-on armour plates that significantly improved the IFV’s defense in battle, allowing it to survive a hit from an RPG-7 grenade and shrapnel from high-calibre HE rounds. A little later, in 1990, the military decided to equip the Warrior with anti-tank weaponry – a 30 mm gun for these targets was clearly not enough. The roof of the turret was equipped with a launcher for the MILAN ATGM. The commander used a hatch to fire the ATGM, and it was reloaded through the upper hatch of the armoured vehicle’s infantry compartment. The FV510 Warrior is still in service with the British army and is the main IFV of the United Kingdom.
In War Thunder, the Warrior is at rank VI in the British armoured vehicle tech tree, and it can be considered the most modern British vehicle in the light tank class. The Warrior can reach speeds of 47 mph(75 km/h). The IFV’s armour won’t save it from tank shells, but fully protects it against hits from anti-air weaponry and the explosions of small bombs and rockets near the vehicle.
The Rarden L21A1 30 mm cannon can be used against light ground targets or airborne targets: its ammunition complement includes high-explosive rounds and armour-piercing rounds. The MILAN is a second-generation ATGM, so it is easy to aim.
The Warrior is an excellent companion for main battle tanks in top-tier battles. Its main value is in its universality – it has a sufficiently rapid-firing gun for shooting at airborne targets (especially helicopters), and at the same time is also armed with ATGM’s like the Striker to engage tanks.

Very nice. Too bad it will take me until 2020 to unlock.
yeah, this thing is gonna be a real challenge to play..... slow firing gun (can be worked around), big target (difficult to hide) and insufficient ammo (terrible) for fighting off anything stronger than light tanks or SPAA..... i am scared this will be a terrible vehicle (same as swingfire and striker) and be a nightmare to use.........
Lovely addition to the UK tech tree. Much needed light tank spawn cost for RB. Thanks dudes.
One of the tanks you have to research for future patch content following this but then never ever play again. This is pretty much an atgm carrier without a stab.
Same with the M1IP. The bugged armor got accepted as bug (Bug report was confirmed) but I'm pretty sure that it will stay how it was on the DEV. Sad because I was really hyped when I heard that we get an IP version. The only thing I can by happy about is the Leo2a4 buff ; (
Yo Gaijin... no more France?
Yo Gaijin... no more Italy? Yo Gaijin... no more tier 6 planes? Yo Gaijin... No more Japan?
Will the 30mm RARDEN on the Warrior get realistic penetration figures when the patch goes live? Or will it still have the penetration copied from the Falcon's 30mm?
When does the patch come out?
Unfortunately we had some performance and FM issues, and the developers are still working on it. It may take a few days? We'll see.
Ok serious question for the devs here. Are there more vehicles planned to come out in 1.81 that have not been seen in a devblog OR on the dev server?
The vehicle has an on-board toilet, which was also modeled with?
I can't check right now, but that wouldn't be surprising.
MILAN 1 or 2 ?
Both as of the latest dev server.
