In War Thunder update 1.59 "Flaming Arrows" , we’re adding several tanks armed with ATGMs at once. On top of that, we’re continuing to work on tanks with unguided rockets. Today’s hero is the British Cromwell RP3, armed with aircraft rockets!
The success of multiple rocket launchers and experiments with installing unguided rocket launchers on tanks could not fail to catch the interest of British tank designers. In 1946, British engineers performed an experiment with aircraft rockets on a Cromwell tank, installing four immobile rocket rails on a welded frame. With the help of some clumsy fixtures, standard aviation rockets were mounted on these rails. They were designed to destroy submarines and ships, but in practice were widely used during assaults on ground targets. And so the Cromwell RP3 was born, an experimental rocket-equipped tank, which, unfortunately, was outdated as soon as it was created.
Although the tank had no place in the Cold War, the rocket-equipped Cromwell is most welcome in War Thunder! The first and so far only tank with unguided rockets in the British tech tree, this vehicle is sure to find fans among our players. The tank has just one flaw – its rockets can be aimed only by turning the tank’s turret, since its rails are immobile. The tank’s advantages are everything else. Four semi-armor-piercing rockets (the same as those used on the Hurricane Mk IIb fighter) cause extremely heavy and sometimes deadly damage to any opponent at the tank’s rank.
Since the rockets are hard to aim and there are only four of them, the rocket-equipped Cromwell’s Battle Rating will be the same as a standard tank (at least, when the update is released). For tankers experienced with the Cromwell who know all its strengths and weaknesses, these aircraft rockets will be an excellent addition for destroying enemy tanks. Yes, this tank has its own ‘finisher’!

I have finally thrown in the towel and left the game for good. To many clueless players and to little in fixing bugs and tired of the adding of new vrhicles just to make people happy did I say people oh I meant the kids which is 60-70% of the players in the game now just like WoT gsme going down the drain.
waw this is hard to read. try to use , and .
I see almost no real bugs, and heaps of fixes for bugs I had never even seen. I agree their are a few to many N00bs playing atm, but they just need to be told at the start of the matches (on screen by Gaijin). That landing on an enemy airfield controlled by enemy tanks will achieve nothing (or better yet just have the tanks kill them). Another change to eliminate Noobish behavior that should be implemented a silver lion penalty to players just crashing their planes during ground battles. Git Gud
that looks....dangerous

change drug dealer, take a half...
As soon as I saw the rocket racks I knew that this would be premium. Oh well, as long as it's BR'd appropriately, I have no complaints.
Is it just me or is there no elevation mechanism on those rockets.... If that's the case, are people really going to pay to play as a gimped cromwell?
It's not just you. They obviously had none.
Yes, that's the point of it being a premium. They don't want it in the normal tree because it's too weird.
When is the dev server going to be up?
Any chance of seeing armored cars (BA-10, Puma etc.) or more (half)truck based vehicles like SU-12 or SdKfz ?
According to the devs, yes. I recall there are some halftracks this update but no one really said which ones. Guess we'll have to find out
No doubt this will be another totally overpriced premium rocket tank, just like the rest of them. Ground forces in this game is going further downhill with every new patch. Instead of putting more tanks into existing tree's, why don't you give us some Japanese tanks. Or even French and Italian tanks.
How many reasonable Japanese tanks can you think of? And beyond tier 3 there would be nothing. And the French and Italian entries would be hardly more extensive.
Well, Japanese tanks are hard... If you have some good tier 4-5 japanese tanks, you can actually tell the devs on the forum. :)
ok, M48A1, Sheridan, guided missiles for British, Yak-30D, Object 150, copy paste Jap with ki, ko, hei, ho word in it, what else any chance for T30 ?? (this could be great troll for great T29 premium haters :P)
T29 should be in the tree. T30 and T34 are what should be premium. T29-No range finding, terrible gun, T30-Wonderful 155mm gun and range finding, T34-great 120mm M58 gun, used on M103, and range finders. Now, what sound like it should be premium here? Not the T29.
Besides that they all have 540mm spaced turret armor.
I'm a little skeptical about it having the same BR as the regular one, even though it has just four rockets that are a bit difficult to aim. I'd think that a BR that's about 0.3-0.4 higher would be more suitable for the start.
The rockets work like unarmored, outside ammo racks.
