The French Milan fighter jet was developed on the basis of the Mirage III by order of Switzerland and first took to the skies on May 29th 1969. Exactly 1 year later, the final version of this aircraft equipped with the Snecma Atar 9K-50 engine passed flight tests.

Dupleix Returns to Sale on its Anniversary!
Dupleix was the fourth Suffren-class heavy cruiser in service with the French Navy. It was laid down in the fall of 1929 and put into service on May 1st 1932. At the beginning of World War II, Dupleix served near Dakar, hunting German ships and in June 1940 took part in the attack on Genoa and Vado Ligure. In November 1942, Dupleix was scuttled to avoid capture by the Germans.

The modern Italian Air Force comprises of more than 500 aircraft, almost 100 of which are Eurofighter Typhoons.

Anniversary of the La-5’s First Flight!
The LaGG-5 (later renamed to La-5), created by the OKB-21 under the leadership of S.A. Lavochkin made its first flight on March 21st 1942. By the summer of the same year, this aircraft arrived to the front where it went up against the Luftwaffe’s Fw 190. The La-5 was actively used until the end of the war, and almost 10,000 were built.

Alexander Pokyrshkin’s P-39N-0 Temporarily Returns for his Birthday!
On March 6th, 1913, Alexander Pokryshkin was born and was one of the most successful aces of the USSR. Pokyshkin worked as an aircraft technician for several years, dreaming of becoming a pilot, and secretly completed a one-year civil pilot program in 17 days. He participated in battles throughout World War II, shooting down more than 50 enemy aircraft. He was awarded the Hero of the Soviet Union title three times.

Finnish Air Force Day: A Decal to Celebrate!
The Finnish Air Force is one of the oldest in the world, turning 106. It was formed on March 6th 1918, shortly after Finland declared its independence. Finland’s air force took part in the Finnish Civil War, and the Soviet-Finnish War during World War II. Today, the Finnish Air Force operates more than 150 aircraft, some of which include the American F/A-18 C and D, and the British Hawk Mk.51.
