The legendary in-game King Tiger with the early turret type (commonly known as the “Porsche” turret) will soon be receiving a new visual model and numerous internal module improvements. Meet the redesigned Tiger II (P), coming in the next major update!
First, let’s take a look at the Tiger II (P) from the outside. We’ve given it some general geometry corrections, especially noticeable on the turret, which underwent the most extensive reworking. A protective ring was added around the turret ring, which was previously a very vulnerable area. Zimmerit has now been added to the hull and turret. This is a special compound that was applied to Wehrmacht armored vehicles to protect against magnetic mines, though as far as the game is concerned its purely cosmetic. Spare tracks have been added to the sides of the turret too, slightly increasing the protection. The actual tracks themselves are also new.
Next, what about the internals? The armor will be updated to the more accurate volumetric model, correctly reflecting the dimensions of the tank’s protective structure when it’s hit. The models of the internal modules have also been reworked, becoming more detailed and accurate.

You’ll be able to see the updated Tiger II (P) for yourself very soon! And in one of the future major updates, we also plan to make improvements to the external model of the Tiger II (H), so make sure to keep an eye out for that!

Comments will be premoderatedDoes the updated model for the German tree differ much from the Battle Pass "Kungstiger" for Sweden that already has a newer model?
Hopefully this comes with a name change as well, something like "Tiger II (Early)" makes alot more sense than the erroneous "(P)"
No, it’s not needed. The tanks are named after the hulls the turrets were originally designed to be mounted on. They were in production at the same time, so it makes little sense for them to be named (Early) and (Late).
But the (P) is right, why change it?
Another nerf. small turret ring but a center column, bigger cannon breach, bigger driver vision system, bigger commander cupola vision system, bigger transmission. No news here. I hope I am wrong.
Love to see updates to models. Breathes new life in them. I hope to see all vehicle models updated in the future, not just select few. Ashame its just the Tiger 2P for now, not all the Tiger 2's or Tiger 1's.
Will volumetric model be added to Kungstiger as well?
It looks incredible! Are y’all planning on updating the model of the Kungstiger to this standard, or is this bringing the Tiger II(p) to Kungstiger standards?
Gaijin be makin' shmexy beast MOAR SHMEXY. 🫠💕
To all the complaints about calling it Porsche Turret. The article literally refers to it as early turret type. They added a note that over the past decades, it was called/known Porsche Turret, despite it being from Krupp. I am looking forward to the updated model, the photos already do look mesmerising. Please continue with the other King Tigers soon.
this will be fun to see especially with more armour for that first stage ammo for extra protection from the American 75
Very Cool looking :)
