The legendary in-game King Tiger with the early turret type (commonly known as the “Porsche” turret) will soon be receiving a new visual model and numerous internal module improvements. Meet the redesigned Tiger II (P), coming in the next major update!
First, let’s take a look at the Tiger II (P) from the outside. We’ve given it some general geometry corrections, especially noticeable on the turret, which underwent the most extensive reworking. A protective ring was added around the turret ring, which was previously a very vulnerable area. Zimmerit has now been added to the hull and turret. This is a special compound that was applied to Wehrmacht armored vehicles to protect against magnetic mines, though as far as the game is concerned its purely cosmetic. Spare tracks have been added to the sides of the turret too, slightly increasing the protection. The actual tracks themselves are also new.
Next, what about the internals? The armor will be updated to the more accurate volumetric model, correctly reflecting the dimensions of the tank’s protective structure when it’s hit. The models of the internal modules have also been reworked, becoming more detailed and accurate.

You’ll be able to see the updated Tiger II (P) for yourself very soon! And in one of the future major updates, we also plan to make improvements to the external model of the Tiger II (H), so make sure to keep an eye out for that!

Comments will be premoderatedIsn't it common knowledge by now that that is not a Porsche turret?
A lot of people have realized that but many more still try to rationalize the (P) and (H) as "Porsche," and "Henschel."
Outside of individuals that really like tanks, no. It's a misnomer that has stuck so people still call it that.
Isn't it about time these are renamed to "early" and "late"? Both use the Henschel hull and simply use different variations of the Krupp turret
They are named for the hulls originally designed to be mounted on. Essentially they just tell you it’s one of the two turret designed. Not really needed, since they were also in production at the same time.
At some point, they renamed the one with the early turret as "Tiger 2 NR 1-150" to indicate that it was one of the early models but they reinverted it back to Tiger 2 (P)
I think the Tiger II(P) should just be renamed Tiger II (Early) and the Tiger II (H) be renamed Tiger II (Late). The (P) turret was just the early turret design and was replaced due to the shot trap and harder to manufacture design.
(P) stands for "prototype"... there you go!
Very nice to see! Will the tracks mounted on the turret be optional, in the form of an 'add-on armour' modification? While on the topic of King Tigers, it would be great to see the Tiger II (10.5cm Kw.K) making a return!
As an American main. "NO DEAR GOODNES NO! NO! NO! NO!"
its not coming back.
IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL
Why don't you bother to educate yourselfes at all, and maybe stop spreading the myth that this turret is "Porche"?
Can you re-read the article please?
Very Cool !
Does that apply to the OTHER Tiger II (P), also known as the "kungstiger"?
And how all the older remodels worked? think
I don't know about the internal modules, but the visual model should stay because it's unique from the German one.
In last few years Tigers II get higer BR, nerfed ammo reck by moving up in turet, reducing engine power and speed, and now even more internal modules which will make Tigers even more easy to destroy on that BR.....why then also other nation didnt get some rework? Yes really looks nice and great and more details and beatiful but that is only visual inprovment and that is great but dont ruin that vehicles by other changes....
The Tiger II (H) never got moved up, only the early Tiger II and the now removed 105. Yes they're slower than they used to be, but they're certainly not "ruined". Tanks like the Pershing, Super Pershing, T25, T44, Centurion Mk. 1, and numerous others around the Tiger II's BR have been moved up, meanwhile the H model stays at 6.7. If anything they've been helped by staying at that BR while other vehicles, either weaker or on par with them, have been moved up. The Tiger IIs are doing just fine
Will you be correcting the name given that both Tiger II turrets were designed and built by Krupp?
They are of different designs and were built for different hulls. There’s no problem in naming them for the different hulls they were meant to be mounted on.
