Attention! Outdated news format. Content may not display correctly.
Insidious traps, equally dangerous for fast boats and for huge cruisers - naval mines! Today War Thunder commanders have a chance to learn more about a potential enemy weapon.
This is the first appearance of Naval Mines in War Thunder! In using the VS-8 "Schell I" you will help us test the mechanics of mines in real battles.
From 12:00 GMT on the 15th of November till 07:00 GMT on the 19th of November
Win 7 times with a battle activity of 50% or higher in naval battles whilst controlling a ship and get a 24 hour rental for the minelayer hydrofoil VS-8 "Schell I".
Event features:
- Vessels of all ranks are able to participate in the event.
- You can follow progress by clicking on your nickname → Achievements → Achievements → Special.
- You can only receive the VS-8 for rental once.
- The rental begins from the moment the task is completed and the boat is received.
- To participate in battle with the VS-8, the boat must be allocated to a crew slot. After the rental is finished, crew skills will not be reset and can be used in the future for any battles with the VS-8.
- Any RP and SL earned during the use of the VS-8 will not be reset after the rental is finished.
- In case of problems being found during testing, both the action itself and the possibility of using VS-8 "Schell I" may be suspended.
Please share your suggestions on this type of weaponry in War Thunder in our dedicated forum topic!

Gads how many more stars do I need to be a soy beta boy tester? Rascals of the sea weed
So why cant I just buy one and test it then?
For those, who are wondering, why they can't get it - your last vehicle in the battle has to be a ship or a boat, finishing the battle in a plane won't count in the progress. Moderators, please pay attention to the fact, that newcomers don't really know how events working here! A tutorial about event/battle task/wager rules might come handy!
Will there be similiar event for testing submarinez? ^_^
Next time you have to deal with a touchy subject, WT, I recommend you have a first string administrator answer in the first place. Your "assistants" need some further public relations training.
gaijin please, get the canary cruise from spain to germany
I can already see 2 major problems with this boat. 1 - People will keep spamming capture points with mines, so campers gonna camp even harder. 2 - It's bloody German.
This a joke. How about instead of focusing on adding useless vehicles, focus more on fixing issues in Naval battles - Example, spawn point system, dropped from 3600 to 360 for a plane...before that change I spent more time worrying about boats than the 37 aircraft dive bombing me with bloody torpedoes. With how many planes I see in one given moment, I might as well just play Air battles. And torps... Oh boy, invisible torpedoes, planes using Torps as bombs...
good morning I am a longtime war thunder player.i know its off topic but I recently purchased the german type m 1943 premium and was very dissatisfied. it has worse maneuverability and speed than the destroyers and heavy listing when turning. It is fairly good in combat the few times ive tested it but at half the speed of other ships I rarely make it to the fight without being cut off by other bigger fish or long range arty. may I ask for a speed buff or EVEN BETTER- a spawn closer to the fight?
I don’t understand why my Mac WT launcher can’t change resolving ratio after this server update, it stays like 1400•900, which makes it hard for me to play well. Can programmers gives me a solution? Waiting for an answer, thx!
