We’ve made serious changes and improvements to the Kuban location, which should be familiar to all tank commanders. So what’s changed?
When we were thinking about improving Kuban, we were aiming to balance out this location and make it suitable for an extremely wide variety of tactics and defenses. Kuban has become flatter (the largest drops from high to low terrain are gone), but we’ve preserved the overall hilly nature of the location with all its cover and opportunities for inconspicuous flanking maneuvers. A path down to a small lake has appeared in one part of the location that amphibious tanks can use to flank the enemy from an unexpected direction. On the opposite side of the location, we have placed an abandoned camp with gloomy, uninhabited barracks and strips of barbed-wire barricades. Here, in a maze of log walls, enemies can encounter each other at point-blank range. Hills traditionally attract fans of position and snap shooting.
We hope that our efforts will give you a fresh perspective on a familiar landscape and make your experience playing in Kuban much more interesting.
The location will become available for ground and combined battles in War Thunder update 1.69: “Regia Aeronautica”!

Nice work! I believe you fixed the most hated map in ground forces! Now karelia maybe? :D
Ash river is much worse than kuban and karelia werd ever combined
HerrFockeWulf, That so odd... I absolutely love Ash River and (old) Kuban, meanwhile from the comments I see that those are the most hated once out there...
It's really good to see you working on older maps. But no amount of tweaking can change one thing - they are small. Kuban, Karelia, Finland, Frozen pass, Ash River - all those maps really need more open, realistic variant for RB/SB. They are fun in AB, but pain in the back otherwise.
Seconded! Especially with the addition of the cold war era tanks, some of these maps are really painfully small for RB/SB. Hopefully they will be reworked with that in mind some day.
So you're basically asking for maps that force you to drive 5 minutes before being able to actually do something, just like it was before on some maps. Why? Where's fun in that?
I hope its twice the size of original because that map is just unfit for this game at such small size
I like small maps, yet I hate them, see love-hate relationship here :P
Kuban is my favorite map, I don't understand why people don't like it. There are quite a few legitimately bad and unbalanced maps, but Kuban is not one!
Good, I hope it's not the same as when you "improved" (ruined) Kursk!
How did they ruin Kursk?
*noname_necessary, What he means is its harder for big sniping wars. They added in a town in the middle so most would go into the town. I am pretty neutral to the change, but I would like to play the old map from time to time.
Why is Karelia so rare?
I've been wondering that too...
I think I haven't even played it in random battles :(
Well from what I read, my favourite map just got ruined, yay
lmao the old one was trash
Anyone who liked the old kuban had a mental deficiency
so kubans still trash good to know
Has not even seen the full map. Still complains.
trash? your one of them ppl who dont appreciate all the hard work that goes into this FREE game
Will you ever add new Air RB maps in the future (or at least change the map rotation a bit so rare maps like Britain and the Pacific maps are more frequent) It can be frustrating to get Krimsk 5 times in a row. Otherwise I'm excited about the update
Now please Re-work Carpathians.
Looking good! Now M8 Greyhound? Pls?
