Spitfire Races in Arcade Battles and Realistic Battles
First place in the race - 10.000 |
Before the creation of the "Spitfire", designer Reginald Mitchell was engaged in the creation of racing airplanes and used many of his developments to design a new combat vehicle. Take to the skies in a Spitfire and relive its racing pedigree in the event “Spitfire Race”.
The main goal is to fly through the key points of the route, to ultimately arrive as the first person across the finish line. Each key point will be opened only after passing through the previous one. They are often located in narrow bends or near the rocks. They appear like rings, however there is no need to fly through them exactly in the center. The game will count the passage, even if the aircraft simply touches a ring a little bit to the side. Make note of that in order to optimize your trajectory and win a few precious seconds.

Some people are saying that this specific spitfire is "broken" - how exactly? I dont want to buy a premium and have it be a lemon. if not this one which is a good premium if your working the US/German line. any reccomendations outside the US/German premium line?
There is nothing "broken" about the aircraft. It is simply the Soviet service version of the Spitfire LF IX that the USA also has as a premium.
You say it is to commemorate the first spitfire flight but then the event only allows the late tier mk XIV and 22. like, WTF?
Actually on second thoughts you can keep your icon, on trying it I have decided that no picture of a puppy dog is worth the levels of masochism and self hatred needed to win 1 of these 'races', let alone 5. I'll stick to shooting things thanks.
Why can the FR mk 14e not be used in this event?
I was thrilled to see this event appear, until I saw the requirements. I own every spitfire with the exception of those needed. Was very disapointed, I though it would have made more sense to have used lower tier planes that more people have access to. Its nice see the russian spit back, but would have prefered it if the discout applied to all spit premiums.
This is good, but there needs to be have something like this to commemorate German planes in the future also (and not just that, but all countries on equal terms): I remember when Bf 109's 80th year since first flight was a couple of years back, and there was nothing like this.
Very nice to have one of the more old school events back. Sad that they have become so rare!
Gaijin in next future can be found special event Boston bomber, DB7 and XF5F Skyrocket ? Thx Spitfire LF Mk IXc (USSR) action. Good Job.
Why can't we use Prendregast's Spitfire FR XIVe for the kill task? It doesn't really make sense...
Awesome to the MAX! Discounts, Rewards, and winnable items! Thanks Gaijin!, oh and I quite like this commenting system War Thunder players can instantly feel a part of something (sans forums) Where else can you receive such interaction with a game site? And with leisure to show appreciation too! Salute o7
