The Supermarine Spitfire was able compete on equal terms with the best contemporary aerial combatants of other countries, was produced in many different modifications and has become one of the most recognizable aircraft in history. Pilots! In the honor of the first flight of the British Supermarine Spitfire on the 5th March 1936, we are pleased to present the following event:

Event “V-1 interception” for Realistic Battles and Simulator Battles
Wunderwaffe (wonder weapon) - German rocket V-1. Residents of Great Britain met this killer for the first time on the 13th of June 1944. In this event you will take on the role yourself as an RAF pilot with just one simple task - Do not allow the V-1 rockets to hit the targets. Destroy the rockets with your offensive weaponry or even ram them. Reward: +30% SL and RP!
Spitfire F Mk XIVc, Spitfire F Mk XIVe, Prendergast’s Spitfire FR Mk XIVe, Spitfire F Mk XVIIIe, Spitfire F Mk.22
Spitfire Races in Arcade Battles and Realistic Battles
First place in the race - 10.000 |
Before the creation of the "Spitfire", designer Reginald Mitchell was engaged in the creation of racing airplanes and used many of his developments to design a new combat vehicle. Take to the skies in a Spitfire and relive its racing pedigree in the event “Spitfire Race”.
The main goal is to fly through the key points of the route, to ultimately arrive as the first person across the finish line. Each key point will be opened only after passing through the previous one. They are often located in narrow bends or near the rocks. They appear like rings, however there is no need to fly through them exactly in the center. The game will count the passage, even if the aircraft simply touches a ring a little bit to the side. Make note of that in order to optimize your trajectory and win a few precious seconds.

Love me some spitfires, but I really wish the 30% was applied to the American mk 9, and the British spitfire mk 14c. And possibly reduce the repair price :3
Serious?! I really want to take part in the V-1 interception but i'm researching the Spit XIVc now and can't....
Is the soviet premium Spitfire going to be hidden after the event? Or can I buy it later, maybe a week or two after the event has ended?
It will be hidden again. It will be available for as long as the event lasts, March 3rd through the 6th. So you have about 3 days to purchase it.
Uhm, Spitfires weren't ever used as interceptors (for V-1s), Tempests were...
Nope. Sorry but you're completely wrong there. Please do some actual research before making such misinformed comments. If you are actually interested in reading up about the RAF's response to the V-1 campaign, I recommend 'V1 Flying Bomb Aces' by Andrew Thomas, Spitfires were heavily used against the V1, in fact most Mk XIV Sqns were kept behind in Britain rather than going to Europe because they were better at catching V-1s than merlin engined spits (although even they got a few V-1 kills).
Awesome, I'd love to see more events including rare pilot icons :)
I and others had to win 225 matches with 70% activity during the first WWII Chronicles for get this, now the 30% discount for it it's obtainable by getting only 30/15 kills? That must be a joke
Well the 30/15 kills only gets a you the discount, not the plane. But I'm taking it that you're just overall frustrated that its available for purchase at all over earning it.
k, and i grinded for a month for sturmvogel where as others can just pay for it without doing anything, call that fair?
Ended up buying the Soviet Spitfire and it works surprisingly well when paired up with other Soviet rank 4 fighters, mostly because it can use its climb rate to try and force enemies down to lower altitudes for the rest of the team. Thanks for making it available again, Gaijin.
this be rb you talking about?
not sure what to think logged in ( V1) event....allready waiting 10 minutes to get in (screenshot )....few germans & LOADS brits and some allready managed to play 20+ games ?!? maybe rework it a bit so its attractive for both sides
Status update * 20 minutes and counting.......
Pretty cool event, although i was hoping to see the prototype K5054 up for grabs rather than the premium Russian spitfire! Maybe next year, eh?
Curious why they decided to celebrate the first flight of this wonderful British Aircraft with a Russian LF Mk. IXc, pretty useless for those of us who primarily fly British aircraft.... the Plagis LF. Mk IXc is also a pretty rare bird in game, especially as it's no longer available for purchase by PS4 players. That would have seemed a more logical option imho. Deffo be trying the V-1 event though, might see if I can pick up that icon to, we'll see.
Plagis's Spitfire was on sale for a very long time. The USSR IX is the rarest Spitfire and has only been made available on a handful of occasions.
