In short: Blazer explosive-reactive armour and smoke grenades are coming as new modules for the Magach 3. No increase in BR is currently planned.
Great news for owners of the Magach 3 premium tank – with the release of War Thunder update 1.79, this tank will receive a set of modules that increase its survivability and defense capability on the battlefield.
The Blazer set of explosive-reactive armour will help the tank withstand HEAT shells, including anti-tank guided missiles. 55 containers of various shapes and sizes cover the front hull, the gun mantlet, the top and sides of the turret. ERA neutralizes HEAT stream, but does not provide additional defense against kinetic shells (armour-piercing, APCR, armour-piercing-high-explosive, etc.). Read more about what explosive-reactive armour is and how it works in our Devblog.
In addition, all owners of the Magach 3 will receive smoke grenades, which hide the tank with a smokescreen while it repairs or maneuvers on the battlefield.
All owners of the Magach 3 will get these modules completely free. New buyers of this premium tank will also get the defensive modules in the set. We don’t plan to change the tank’s BR after introducing these additional defenses, although it is possible that it may change if our statistics show that the tank has received too great an advantage.

Not sure which smin or ouchie but thanks to one of you i got new reading material AKA nvg 24 and tankograd
Nice, now T-55AM2 modul for T-55A please :-)
I've owned the Magach 3 for a while since it is the M48 that i've been waiting for, happy to have it and love it. Finally we get ERA and smoke and more than happy to have it.
cant wait for magach cry babies to see how the magach gets up to 8.0 or 8.3
This tank is absolutely awful and i wish i never bought it. With that being said i don't think just slapping ERA and smoke is going to make it competitive. The gun is the weakest link for this 50$ tank and should be fixed.
I think the problem lies in its firepower, not the armor. I need a vertical stability system instead of an explosive-reactive armour.
May I ask Smith1080p or someone else what german players would receive ?at this battle rating they have jpz 4-5,leo1 and kpzm47!All of these tank relay on ammo that is broken.I can excuse when the hit in the ammo rack its not direct and the ammo rack doesnt explode! But direct hit and no explosion!Or maybe I need to run ww2 tank at this battle rating? So its not enough the frustration of using heatfs before the frustration I need to remove some ERA blocks before I get more frustration!?
will it get a stabalizer though?
It's not the Israeli favourite. Israeli Centurion maybe? Also there are plenty of add-on armour options for Centurions that are more professional than tracks. Maybe also let it have the 20pdr over the L7? Downgrading the gun should be allowed.
nice! Now give us the M111 HETZ APFSDS and raise it to 8.3BR. Due to no stabilizer, make the ammo super cheap to compensate it (50-100sl per shot, all of them including HEAT)
