We are happy to introduce some new features of the next Major Update 1.71 “New E.R.A”: composite and explosive reactive armour for the ground vehicles!
When rounds that could penetrate up to 400mm of armoured steel were invented, engineers had to find a new approach to tank protection. One of these solutions became composite armour - protection that consists of several layers of different materials, and though it has significantly less mass than conventional steel armour, it is equally durable.
The second option was reactive armour. Such “armour” consists of metal containers with explosives and metal plates. When the container is hit - the explosive jet causes detonation and the plates “fly towards” the jet, thus the jet penetrates new sections of the plates losing focus and penetration.

No, they wont. The american will only have M60A1 RISE (P) with no APFSDS.
Of course there will be more American additions eventually, this is just a beginning - we have a long road in front of us. But not everything can come in this particular update, there is a lot of development going on at the same time. Have on mind we are developing aicraft, tanks, Naval forces, we have recently released Italian aircraft, Japanese tanks and now ERA6 vehicles - that's a lot of releases for one year. Give us some time and we will supply you with more cool modern vehicles.
But how até you planning to do with other nations? The British had some later chieftain version with compositor armour, but the germans only got that with Leo 2 that is a 1980 tank that would require more modern tanks like a t 80 early Abrahams, etc...

Woa woa, lets all just get off our high horses for once and be grateful for all that's been done! This is BY FAR the most productive year I've ever seen, in the past 4 years playing. Back when ground forces came out, we couldn't even comprehend them adding a tier VI as tier V was already insane. Now we're gonna see ERA and Composites!? You all should know that everything comes in time...Just look back at all that's happened and be grateful for all they've done this year, and will keep doing!! o7
it very funny when you start your match with a M60 and full ERA around then after first 3 min of battle all your ERA got shot off by fighter strafing run . or russian Duska HMG =))
There are multiple variants of ERA, this is the first tier if tier VI, I'm sure they'll add Shielded or NERA armored vehicles, or maybe even have them as Mods for the vehicles

Its actually a very early and crude version of Composite armor, since it uses fiberglass it'll have minimum effectiveness against KE projectiles
Is there a possibility of a Vietnam Era map or two in this patch? It would be nice to have another jungle map!
