Semper Fidelis (“always faithful”) has been the motto of the United States Marine Corps since 1883. The Corps has 200,000 marines including reservists, and are the one of the six branches of the United States Armed Forces, one of the oldest too. August von Mackensen joined the 2nd Prussian Life Hussar Regiment, known as the “Black Hussars” at the age of 20. He earned his first honors in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71, and served as a field marshal general in the First World War, commanding an army group named after him. A battlecruiser built in Germany during the First World War was also named after him — this same battlecruiser is the main reward in this new naval event!

Get the F-106A “Six Shooter” in the Sky Guard Event!

The F-106 supersonic interceptor entered service with the U.S. Air Force in 1959. This aircraft did not take part in combat operations in Vietnam, but the possibility of using it as air cover was considered. In view of this, in 1972 the fighter was modernized under the Six Shooter program, where it was equipped with an internal cannon, an optical sight and a transparent canopy. Closer to the 1980s, the U.S. Air Force switched to more modern fighters, causing the F-106s to be transferred to the National Guard, serving until 1988.
