Hi everyone! We’re working on expanding the selection of locations for Nuclear Escalation and the first candidate to join the list is the updated Southeastern City map!
Testing is available in the Events and Tournaments tab.
Updates to Southeastern City
We’ve carried out some significant revisions to Southeastern City. One of the most important changes is the switch to height-map technology, similar to how it works in a recent update to the Afghanistan map.

This technology allows for a more detailed landscape. We’ve also improved some terrain elements: the map now features detailed sandy and rocky shores, the mountains have more textured surfaces, and forests and villages have been added to the northern section, which previously only consisted of open fields.

Vegetation has also been improved, we’ve replaced existing models with new ones and the ground cover is now more dense, with trees appearing on mountain slopes as well.

The finishing touches include reworking the water color and adjusting weather settings to make the map look more vibrant than ever before.
More details about testing
The test will cover the same Battle Rating range as the main mode, from 8.7 to 14.7, using the same matchmaking rules and Battle Rating brackets that determine the ground AI lineups in battle.
We want to see how the mode plays out on this map in practice and decide on the next steps based on the results. For instance, we anticipate that the map’s smaller size might lead to excessive action density at top tiers, potentially requiring us to cap the maximum mission Battle Rating.
Play Nuclear Escalation on the Southeastern City map and be sure to share your feedback with us. Good luck and have fun!
