In the upcoming economy update we will focus on the overly expensive repair of heavy bombers. Repair prices, awards for base bombing and costs for suspended weaponry will be corrected and all this will make flying out in heavy bombers much less risky and more affordable for average players. This will of course have an effect on any kind of bombing attack from all bomb capable aircraft.
In addition to the automatic balancing (manual adjustment being done regularly after major updates) of Battle Ratings in War Thunder, there is also an automatic algorithm that is responsible for the game economy. Among its tasks are also the adjustment of repair prices depending on the average earnings of the specific vehicles. Bombers possess base destruction as a unique goal which brings greater income, however, heavy bombers find themselves in a situation over time where prices for repair automatically increase to a substantial amount. This has made flying out in them an economically risky business for players.
Repair cost of some bombers will be reduced !
To solve this problem it would not be enough to simply reduce the award for base bombing and therefore the repair cost because even within one rank the aircraft may have very different carrying capacities which would result in a situation where lightweight bombers would receive a low amount of awards. We believe that the optimal solution is an algorithm that adjusts the award value for base bombing based on the current bomb load. This in turn will reduce the repair cost of some bombers and will not affect the total income of the vehicles even with a low bomb load in any battle result.
For example: a Tu-2S-44 (BR 6.0) with 2,000 kg of bombs will receive a decent award for successful base bombing and the B-24D-25-CO (BR 6.0) with 3,600 kg bombs in turn will not reflect twice the repair costs of the Tu-2S.
The algorithm will affect only awards for base bombing and will not affect other battle awards in any way. So bombers will still retain the ability to provide their pilots with stable Silver Lion earnings.

The data presented in the table is preliminary and may change during the development process.
We constantly revisit and revise economy changes and will look again at all areas. For now we plan to make these specific changes that affect all bomb capable aircraft at the beginning of October. We would be happy to receive your opinions and suggestions on this topic.

Is there any plans to improve the durability and damage model (which is overly simplified) for not only Bombers but all multiengine aircraft in the future as well as the Battle Ratings? It's very silly to see things like the Me 264 at BR 3.7 while comparable bombers can be as high as BR 5.7!
ust built the lancaster 1/32 scale model and the inside of that thing is packed full of bulheads, radio sets etc but the damage model has nothing inside other then an armoured seat. this does need to be corrected for sure. but its ww2 content and that is forgotten these days sadly
That's good news. But this doesnt change the fact that some bombers get screwed not because of the income, but the gameplay performance. Take the B-17 as an example: it haves a 5.3 BR, with a decent SL multiplier, but it cant perform well against certain planes like the Do-335 that can intercept them before they can even get close to the bombing points. Side climbing is an option, but the enemy players will still be able to see a massive dot at the border of the map, and then with the current...
Also, even when you bomb out a base, you don't really help your team by just reducing tickets. Bombers need purpose.
The thing is, most allies bomber "slow" in comparison to most German bombers and yet they still have higher BR And dont forget also Germany, most of their planes have good guns compared to allied one (ughh hisparkos ughhh), and yet some of them have airspawn (yes i'm talking about 335 here, especially the premium 335 because lots of people using them) He177 still at 5.3, 288 at 5.7 and fkin 264 at 4.0 even they faster, have more bomb load (not 288) and better defensive armament than 6.0 B-17L
I like how stupid most of the people are who think this is a fix... they Reduce repair cost by 20% Reduce bombing income by 66%.... i mean really guys? I know about the Ju 288 spam & TU-4 in SB... but this is just another "stupid" fix
why dont you just remove bombers from the game? then you will not have to deal with it... since you clearly dont want anyone do go in a bomber!
In my humble opinion, part of the issue could be in the damage model of bombers. They seems to be quite fragile and is difficult to understand if this is realistic or not.
Interesting.. they changed the "Repair costs of some bombers will be reduced by up to 80%!" to "Repair cost of some bombers will be reduced by up to 20% of the initial costs !"
In RB repair cost of He 177 is lower than B-17G, really!? WTF
the repair costs are based on algorithms. People play the ju 288 rather then a he177, which leads to unbalanced things like that.
thanks for killing my ju 288c. first the rip speed, then the br increase, and now the reward. fuck you.
Great, now just resolve your shitty servers with ping spikes that rocket through the roof, random FPS drops for no reason whatsoever, planes jittering while turning and crapfest of your matchmaker that keeps putting you in higher BR for no reason.
Windwalker, your assessment is spot-on correct! Bravo!
lol yeah lets kill whats left of bomber squads, lower rewards really do seem quite attractive hay......hint hint increase reward , do not decrease the already low reward for bombing, in my opinion this new development will further chase away people from the beautiful majestic bombers that is from WarThunder
