The Supermarine Spitfire was able compete on equal terms with the best contemporary aerial combatants of other countries, was produced in many different modifications and has become one of the most recognizable aircraft in history. Pilots! In the honor of the first flight of the British Supermarine Spitfire on the 5th March 1936, we are pleased to present the following event:

Spitfire Races in Arcade Battles and Realistic Battles
First place in the race - 10.000 |
Before the creation of the "Spitfire", designer Reginald Mitchell was engaged in the creation of racing airplanes and used many of his developments to design a new combat vehicle. Take to the skies in a Spitfire and relive its racing pedigree in the event “Spitfire Race”.
The main goal is to fly through the key points of the route, to ultimately arrive as the first person across the finish line. Each key point will be opened only after passing through the previous one. They are often located in narrow bends or near the rocks. They appear like rings, however there is no need to fly through them exactly in the center. The game will count the passage, even if the aircraft simply touches a ring a little bit to the side. Make note of that in order to optimize your trajectory and win a few precious seconds.

Nice how to celebrate the ''First flight of the Spitfire'' the Russians get a premium Spitfire... Instead of... Celebrating the first flight of Spitfire...
The Soviet Spitfire has been in game for over 2 years. We bring it back for special occasions and since its the rarest Spitfire, this fit the event perfectly. The special is celebrated with two unique in game events, a new pilot icon and the chance (for those interested) to get the rare USSR Spitfire IX. Its also worth noting the Soviets used the Spitfire IX with distinction. Lots of people have asked for a chance to purchase this aircraft again, however nobody is forced to at all when you have two other events and a pilot icon up for grabs too.
First of all, the Soviet Spitfire isn't a new premium. They're just making it temporarily available again just as it was temporarily available in the past. I honestly see no problem with doing this and am quite excited to be able to purchase this aircraft. I've wanted it ever since I found out about it.
All answers (13)*blaZzinG_FurY, The problem here , is that the russian spitifires is one of the most broken plane there's in war thunder.I wouldn't see any issue with selling it if they fixed it but surpise: they didn't.Why do I know it ? Because I have it ofc.
Thank you Gaijin! I've been waiting for the opportunity to obtain the Soviet Spitfire ever since I heard about it! (I'm a bit of a collector) And love the new player icon and look forward towards working for it. Happy Spitfire Day everyone!
Happy Spitfire day :)
Smin1080p, Happy spitfire day
someone said this event and this avatar wasn't new, but anyways, puppies are cool i guess, could have been more zoomed in to see the handsome faces of the two
So why not discount all premium spitfires? Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely event and all that but there's no logical reason to discount ONLY the russian spit. As to the pilot icon, I was kind of expecting a new icon rather than repurposing the icon you could get for the short event in november was it? Having it become available again takes away from the uniqueness it had.
The USSR Spitfire IX is not normally on sale. It has been made available for this event with the option to also get a further discount. The other Spitfires were on sale during the holidays and festive events recently just passed.
Probably because the Russian Spit is a rare event plane that isn't available very often (making it the rarest Spitfire in the game).
Z3r0_, llol the irony.....
I want that pupper icon
i allready own it , as many will , as it has been available before. Hows that for a Unique decal ?!?
Brain3001, must..collect..more...useless..shiny things...
An what post-war Spitfire F Mk.22 doing in the Event “V-1 interception” for Realistic Battles and Simulator Battles? So historically inaccurate, so unprofessional.
It's a vidya game bro, calm yo pants.
Given as the event itself is not a 100% historical representation of typical V1 deployment and that this is a unique specially created event focused on the SPITFIRE series, we are not going to place rather pointless restrictions on people when the aim is not a historical battle like our chronicle series, but a celebration of the Spitfire. Its also worth noting, this is in fact a game :)
Smin1080p, If it is focused on the Spitfire series, how come the 4 RB kills in my Mk 24 didn't count towards the discount? I was really disappointed to find that any Spitfire of rank 3 or higher didn't actually mean ANY Spitfire...
