The fast and deadly ‘Jaguar’ torpedo boat is one of the best representatives of its class in War Thunder.
The German Typ-Klasse 140 Jaguar torpedo boat was developed between 1957 and 1963 for action in the Baltic Sea. The Jaguar was a direct descendent of the WWII-era German Schnellboots. The shipbuilders factored all of their experience using torpedo boats into it and attempted to adapt the vessel for modern combat situations.

Since the Jaguar was intended for open-water situations, it was especially made to be large and powerful, with an impressive fuel range. The Jaguar had a tonnage of 210 tons. Running economically, it was capable of travelling 1,000 miles, which is quite a magnificent distance for this type of naval vehicle. It had four 3,000-horsepower engines, which were capable of achieving a speed of up to 43.5 knots – a very high speed for a torpedo boat with such a large tonnage. In fact, despite having twice the tonnage of wartime Schnellboots, the Jaguar was capable of achieving a very similar speed! Its armament is succinct and efficient. The engineers rejected low-caliber anti-air artillery and backup torpedoes in favour of four torpedo launchers and two automatic Bofors 40 mm guns.

In War Thunder, the Jaguar is at rank IV in the German Navy tech tree. It is noticeably faster than many of its “classmates,” but is still considered equal in terms of firepower. Its four torpedo launchers allow it to launch a whole barrage of fast, deadly torpedoes at the enemy at once, or sink four enemy ships with torpedoes alone with individual aimed shots. Even if they are able to dodge the torpedoes, they won’t get away from the 40 mm rounds fired by the Bofors, which can tear apart the hulls of enemy ships and the plating of aircraft equally with ease. The Jaguar however, has almost no armour. Only the cabin and the gunners’ posts on the cannon installations have bulletproof plating, so you’ll need to take full advantage of the ship’s superiority in terms of speed and range of fire to avoid incoming rounds.

Where are the Japanese boats? I want to see them, please.
They appear not to be a priority. We'll probably get Germany vs USSR at first, and Gaijin will weasel out of their "all nations at start" promise somehow.
Why are people thinking this would be a 'big ship'? It's going to be Tier IV of the TORPEDO-BOAT line; A lineage of small torpedo and scout boats. This will probably be the biggest of the whole dang lineage. Chill people.
If they were going to implement large ships in Naval Forces, they'd have shown them off by now - Or at the very least TOLD us that there would be capital ships, but they haven't done. You're on false hopes my friend xD
i have to say, i got kind of disapointed when Gaijin said there would be no playable big ships, but the naval forcer development is showing itself very cool, and i'm very excited for it to get ready. I wonder if there will be some kind of visual information on the x-ray for flooding in your ship? Anyway, keep up the good work Gaijin
Quite frankly, the "gib bigger boats" deal is getting old. People who whine about not having larger ships are those who don't understand how historically accurate large ship battles are impossible, let alone the impossibility of having planes, tanks, and ships controlled by players. The addition of smaller ships such as the jaguar allow the game to stay relatively historically accurate, while not compromising the comparability of a multi vehicle type game. Good work gaijin, ignore the plebs
When was war thunder even "historical accurate"? Calling this game as "accurate" is an insult to those who fought in the war, Please don't compare your point and click adventure behind your monitor to the "real thing". Thank you!
Das Boot!
Finally our vehicles rise the German Tri-Color. *German intensifies* It would be also cool if we get the German Tri-Color in the hangar. This "fake" Nazi flag sucks.
We can have custom hangar in the game, it should be possible to switch the flag a more modern one.
great new ship! though i feel like it'll take me a lot of getting used to firing the torps at that angle XD
Had high hopes for naval craft when they were announced. Slowly losing hope as more info is released.
Even if gajin as already explained the reasons why battleships are difficult to put in the game, it is still make me sad that we would never be able to command Yamato, Iowa, Tirpitz, King george V... :'(
blee , no thanks, call me wenn you gona have cruesers and battleships.
I guess never, because nobody in their right mind wants to sit around for at least 10 hours in a single match. Go play WoWS.
PanzerEingehend, Nobody in their right mind wants to sit around for 5-10 minutes in a boat either. Go play WoWS.
