You are an excellent warrior with a score of burning enemies in your wake, but your many trials have left only your driver and gunner unhurt. And the enemy is hot on your heels. «Oh, if only I had a second chance. I’d show them!» - Now you do have a second chance! We are pleased to present an improvement to gameplay in War Thunder tank battles – a trauma pack for the crew.
In Update 1.59 ‘Flaming Arrows’, any ground vehicle can be equipped with a trauma pack,
which allows you to bring one crew member per vehicle per battle back into the action.
The trauma pack can be obtained like any ordinary consumable module in the vehicle research menu and is spent in battle automatically when only one crew member is left in your tank. If you have no trauma pack or have spent it, your vehicle will be considered destroyed when there are less than two crew members left, as before. The mechanics are the same for all modes.
Use this new chance and lead your team to victory, whatever happens!
See you on the battlefield!
The War Thunder Team
Update: After evaluating your feedback on the recent developer's blog about the planned introduction of Trauma Packs, we have decided not to include the mechanic with the release of Update 1.59 'Flaming Arrows', but to send it back for revision instead.
There are already multiple ideas in internal discussion also based on your suggestions, and we'll be happy to hear your feedback once again as soon as we have more information to share.
We'd like to thank everyone who took his time to leave his constructive feedback on the topic! Be invited to leave your further ideas and suggestions in the respective areas.

I don't see why people hate this for the contrast from realism. If you want to feel realism, go play WT by the stove with a knife on a burner, whenever your crew gets hit by a HEAT shell, grab the knife off the stove and cut off your foot. War Thunder doesn't need to market for realism if arcade is what most players play. It's not like this will probably revive an entire crew. I like this feature though it should act as an action that takes a while and stops all other actions like repair.
The intent is good, on that nobody can deny. But adding these Trauma packs will result in the same kind of hostility that LMS received. Yes, people wanted to be able to combat longer in a single vehicle, but adding a module that brings people back from the dead is a bit much. If I can receive a Trauma pack anywhere on the field, I might as well be able to have a "Additional Ammo" module that will grant me additional ammo anywhere on the field (PLEASE NO). Easy solution: Cap/Spawn replaces crew.
this will improve my gaming experience greatly. especially in RB when I have seven kills but only 2 crew left and there are more tanks out there begging to get shot.
I would ave liked last man standing in arcade, if for no other reason than to mimic the " the battle is on" video you posted of youtube(turretless panther rm kill ftw)
90% of negative feedback and still we will suffer for another 2 months :/ luckily we still have planes where this is impossible because I will probably take a long break from GF... all this hard work related with update and people will call it 1.59 "medkits" update ;(
Seems nice, a little more of survivability will make the game less frustrating
Oh boy. This would be a good idea for arcade players, but can we keep it out of sim? Or rather instead of a "trauma kit" I think you should be able to go back to a base and replace those crew men like how you can rearm and repair at cap points.
It's amazing how much assuming many of the commenters are doing. Implying it will cost golden eagles (like backups), or will have to be stockpiled like a consumable (wagers?). Look at the picture! It's a modification. You don't buy vests every time you fly bomber. You don't restock your extinguisher supply, it's just there after you research it. P2W means you have to pay, but in WT you can grind instead. MEDKIT EXISTED IN WWii, and as of yet they do not distinguish dead from incapacitated.
