You are an excellent warrior with a score of burning enemies in your wake, but your many trials have left only your driver and gunner unhurt. And the enemy is hot on your heels. «Oh, if only I had a second chance. I’d show them!» - Now you do have a second chance! We are pleased to present an improvement to gameplay in War Thunder tank battles – a trauma pack for the crew.
In Update 1.59 ‘Flaming Arrows’, any ground vehicle can be equipped with a trauma pack,
which allows you to bring one crew member per vehicle per battle back into the action.
The trauma pack can be obtained like any ordinary consumable module in the vehicle research menu and is spent in battle automatically when only one crew member is left in your tank. If you have no trauma pack or have spent it, your vehicle will be considered destroyed when there are less than two crew members left, as before. The mechanics are the same for all modes.
Use this new chance and lead your team to victory, whatever happens!
See you on the battlefield!
The War Thunder Team
Update: After evaluating your feedback on the recent developer's blog about the planned introduction of Trauma Packs, we have decided not to include the mechanic with the release of Update 1.59 'Flaming Arrows', but to send it back for revision instead.
There are already multiple ideas in internal discussion also based on your suggestions, and we'll be happy to hear your feedback once again as soon as we have more information to share.
We'd like to thank everyone who took his time to leave his constructive feedback on the topic! Be invited to leave your further ideas and suggestions in the respective areas.

1 crew replacement : make it possible ONLY at a base or spawn point. And (for RB/SB) make heavy repair also possible ONLY at base or spawn point, please.
Sooooooooo... You mean that the guy in fury could have had his face sowed back in the beginning on and they didn't have to go back to base to get the new kid? or even more accurately, the kid could have revived his commander at the end because he was the last one standing? (sorry for any spoilers but the movie has been out for a good time now) I do agree this is a good idea for AB but it gives an even bigger advantage against grinded tanks. Some of the best moments in the game have been Rb LMS.
For all who say this isn't realistic or LMS isn't have your actually read any historical records that actually show LMS happening time and again in RL for WW2, and for the trauma kit Black crew is Dead or INCAPCITATED, a trauma kit includes Morphine and a shot of pure adrenalin last time I check that shit wakes you up.
Not very much info on this, which I think is why people are understandingly upset. Needs more info like how many you can use in a battle, costs, do you need to research them multiple times? More information and reasoning = less upset people
it says once...
the last man standing made sense to me. and there were instances irl where an armored vehicle was penetrated, but because it was not destroyed the crew continued to use the weapons. but this? there were no zombies
As with LMS this Trauma pack feature will not bring anything to the game. It will be as bad for the game as LMS was. Also the mechanic that you have to spade all your spaded vehicles again because this is invented is just stupid. I have 126 spaded tanks. And now i have to spade them all again because you invent something nobody wanted? The only thing that was asked for was to have a way to get a fresh crewmen. But that should be possible at the base. Not bringing a crewmember back from the dead.
You don't have to spade them all again. You just grind this module and they are still spaded. You don't need to grind the other modules again.
Alvega, I know. But that are still 126 tanks. The same problem occured when they changed the fuel injection on a lot of planes. That was quite a grind to get all planes fully equiped.
I think Gaijin should focus more on things that need to be done/fixed (for ex. matchmaking system which a lot of people complain about) than add features like this one which many players dislike and didn't really ask for. This game could be more fun and satisfying to the players if the devs would actually listen carefully to their ideas and opinions.
Uhh so it's Last Man Standing with a delay + always 2 crew, I guess it's fairer than having to hunt for that last 1 guy since this time around even after reheal killing 1 is enough. I am curious though. Let's assume a tank has 4 crew. One crew dies by a shell. Does that guy gets brought back to life right after? Meaning if the next shot will kill 2 crews = the tank is dead or the bandage only applies when 3 out of 4 die? Meaning you basically get Last Man Standing +1 crew, so 2 crew alive.
ignore the above comment, I've read it again and I understood now how it works. This will still be better than Last man standing just because you won't have to hunt for that last 1 guy, meaning you need to kill 1 out of 2 after the healing has been done so it makes it easier in that sense, what i am still confused is if the guy has 2 T34's in sim and he spawned his first tank and had used the trauma pack, will the 2nd tank he spawn be able to make use of the trauma pack in that match?
This is even worst then LMS! Just create an "airport" equivalent for the tanks a base camp on respaw. This way damaged tanks could go there to repair and recrew, like bombers do when they land at airfield.
this is 100% gonna cause some commotion but i don't think it should really be activated as soon as one man is left. it should be activated when the driver is dead because it would make more sense but it would still make many in those matches mad, lets say your one second off from your crew member being healed then all of the sudden BOOM your dead. i do feel like if the driver is not dead he or she should be able to move away from the line of sight either way lets see how this is gonna work out.
