In this digest we would like to tell you about our continuing work on improvements and fixes in the game. You can find information about all updates that have been released in War Thunder in the website special section.
Know the enemy by sight
Last time we talked a lot about the importance of protection analysis, a feature that allows you to learn the vulnerabilities of the vehicles in the game. However War Thunder is constantly growing and there are more and more vehicles in the game - the choice of virtual enemies is truly huge!
That’s why we have added the ability to search for threat vehicles by name to the protection analysis. Spend less time searching and more time simulating hits!
Ghost bridge
A curious situation happened on the “Alaska” map. One player told us in a report that after the destruction of the bridge from bombs he could freely drive on it - as if the bridge never disappeared!
However after investigating what happened we found out that the bombs didn’t matter at all! The bridge didn’t disappear - only its visual model vanished and only if some tank with bulldozer blade (for example T-80U) started digging under it.
Digging will no longer erase objects from reality - the ghost bridge will be a thing of the past.
Exceptional quality
You must have noticed that the game’s launcher offers you a lot of presets to select from - from minimal and standard installation to a selection of high-quality models of aircraft or ground vehicles.
In the Steam version of the game to install high quality models you need to add the corresponding free DLC pack to account first - but even if the player didn’t activated them or if he disabled these DLC, the client itself set “Ultra quality of all models” and started downloading extra gigabytes. We have also fixed this bug.
That’s Not All
You’ll find the full list of improvements in a separate patch note — there are lots of interesting things! The operation of the gearboxes in a number of ground vehicles, the operation of radar for aircraft have been corrected and shells with contact fuzes will now be correctly suspended on water.
Once again, many thanks for all your bug reports that you submitted using our special service.

Comments will be premoderatedWhat did you fix? It is no longer known where the sound is coming from, it is not known whether it is coming from behind, from above, from the left or the right, horror. Tank is standing next to me and I can't hear its running engine . Or just suddenly the sound stops working, nothing is heard. BTW sound from yesterday is so low. Horror. Where is the RP fix ? Stop ruining the sound, bring back the one from a few days ago and increase the god damn RP.
Excellent! Keep it up, Gaijin! 🫡 Also, when are going to get the "War Thunder - Naval Forces High-res Texture Pack"?
That would be so nice.
Perfect. So now being shot by an Mg cancels all other sounds. Even in a plane getting shot by Heli Base AA cancels every!! other sound. Make it optional or at least make it, so that you can change the volume of incoming shells please. Still having hard times hearing enemy engines when any friendly tank beside you is louder than anything else. Nothing is fixed. It just got Worse. Good job!
The new shell and ricochet sounds are awful. Too loud and way too cartoony. Feel like I'm in the Loony Toons.
Yes. More bug fixes please!
what a bad change to sounds. not that they were good in first place but gaijins commitment to making sounds worse and worse is to be appreciated.
Restore earlier sounds, now you hear everything you don't want to hear and it s a chaos out there
More bug fixed!! +1. New sounds!!! +1. But when gonna fix the graphics so I can play this beatiful game in other setting than ULTRALOW, for the game advantage in this quality?
Hey when are you gonna fix the radar stowing mechanism? The radar on SPAA vehicles turns off, but does not stow away, like on the Type 87 for example. Should be a simple fix
all sounds now ae just annoying and ear peircing.. anyway when rp changes?
