Air battles has long featured a mechanic that awards a kill when a player abandons their vehicle: if you bail out, the kill is credited to the nearest enemy within a certain radius. You’ve asked us to bring this to Ground and Naval Battles, and we’re pleased to say that with the release of the next major update, this reward mechanic is coming to these modes! After all, no one likes encountering players who bail out when cornered or when your bomb is about to hit them.
When a player leaves their ground vehicle or ship (via the ESC menu or by holding the default “J” key), the kill will be credited to the nearest enemy or to the enemy who fired the nearest munition (only rockets, missiles, bombs, torpedoes and mines are counted). The game mechanics will search for these enemies or munitions within a radius of 3 km for ground vehicles and 20 km for ships. As with air battles, the reward for a kill credited in this way is half of the standard amount.

However, this mechanic for tanks and naval vessels differs from the air combat system in two ways. Firstly, priority isn’t given to player vehicles over munitions, this means that if an enemy munition is the closest object to a player when they leave their vehicle, the player who fired that munition will receive the kill credit and the corresponding statistic. Secondly, the system accounts for both guided and unguided rockets, bombs, torpedoes and mines.
If neither enemies or projectiles are within range, the kill will not be credited to anyone, just as before.
We’ll keep sharing details about the upcoming major update, so stay tuned to the news. That’s all for now!

Comments will be premoderatedImplementing the "severely damaged helicopter kill counted" feature to tank on tank kills/assists would also be very cool :)
Please introduce this to Air Sim. Players have abused ejection and crash to refuse a kill for centuries
I legitimately don’t understand why some of the other comments are complaining about the 3km. Yeah it’s a large area, but in the end it will only serve to help benefit the players. It’s not like they are saying the person who leaves will get a reward, so I really don’t understand the complaints.
Now can you add the ability that tank players can safely J-out at allied cap points if they want to switch to another vehicle such as an aircraft or nuke carrier? Currently they just explode and it's credited as a death/kill. You should be able to safely J-out at allied cap points but your vehicle is still there and can be destroyed by the enemy and or if you die in the second spawn--you return to your tank sitting in the cap point.
Is this working for naval EC ? Cause this is a very great feature !
Will the naval one give kill credit to named bots or only players? Since people don't j out undamaged that often in naval its not a crazy change regardless. Wish more was done about the last shell kill stealing in naval. I know severe damage and new ribbon got added but they dont feel adequate and new ribbon only helped with silver lions rewards not research points.
AFAIK players only.
This mechanic was an incredible addition in air battles but Is it possible for it to give full rewards? I have had numerous enemy intentionally nose dive into the ground to deny me the full reward.
i think its great but 3km for ground? its just to much i think around 500m would be better
What's the problem with 3km? I cannot find anyone who will be able to explain where is the issue with the range.
I mean rewarding bombing a spaa and he J'out before bomb explode is a good thing
Does this Mechanic exclude Bot players? Its way too common currently that the issue isnt just wrong kill attribution, but that in many times these kills go to bots meant to fill the ranks of missing players, resulting in huge rewards that are effectively deleted because no one gets to profit from it. It also makes Event grind unnecessarily hard because the only real method of gathering points is kills.
Yes, AFAIK only players counts.
