Reward for When the Enemy Abandons a Tank or Ship!

Air battles has long featured a mechanic that awards a kill when a player abandons their vehicle: if you bail out, the kill is credited to the nearest enemy within a certain radius. You’ve asked us to bring this to Ground and Naval Battles, and we’re pleased to say that with the release of the next major update, this reward mechanic is coming to these modes! After all, no one likes encountering players who bail out when cornered or when your bomb is about to hit them.

When a player leaves their ground vehicle or ship (via the ESC menu or by holding the default “J” key), the kill will be credited to the nearest enemy or to the enemy who fired the nearest projectile. The game mechanics will search for these enemies or shells within a radius of 3 km for ground vehicles and 20 km for ships. As with air battles, the reward for a kill credited in this way is half of the standard amount.

However, this mechanic for tanks and naval vessels differs from the air combat system in two ways. Firstly, priority isn’t given to player vehicles over projectiles, this means that if an enemy projectile is the closest object to a player when they leave their vehicle, the player who fired that projectile will receive the kill credit and the corresponding statistic. Secondly, the system accounts for both guided and unguided projectiles.

If neither enemies or projectiles are within range, the kill will not be credited to anyone, just as before.

We’ll keep sharing details about the upcoming major update, so stay tuned to the news. That’s all for now!
