On September 15th 1940, Germany made a final attempt to gain air superiority, sending more than a thousand aircraft into battle, but the RAF repulsed this attack too. “Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few” Winston Churchill declared during the battle, collectively making all RAF pilots known as “The Few”.
