Model Updates to the Tiger II and Tiger II (Sla.16)!
Hey everyone! Following on from the model update of the Tiger II (Nr.1-50) in the previous major update, today we’re pleased to present you with another model update, this time for the serial production of the Tiger II manufactured by Henschel, as well as the version with the Sla.16 diesel engine!
The Tiger II isn’t just an iconic tank for all fans of military history or an engineering masterpiece that influenced the development of most heavy tanks of its era, it’s also one of the best and most beloved heavy tanks among players in War Thunder.
We’re pleased to bring you a completely updated look for the King Tiger, as well as the experimental Tiger II (Sla.16), which you’ll find in the game when the Spearhead major update releases!

Comments will be premoderatedVery curious about this pattern of zimmerit that's been chosen for the new model. It looks interesting, but I haven't been able to find any examples of Tiger 2s with this pattern. Have reference photos been used in the model's creation? Would love to see examples of what vehicle references are used when updating models.
I very much doubt Gaijin can provid you with one, this is a glaring error. The 'square' section zimmerit, has only been found on Panthers, no one knows why it's only been found on Panthers. My own personal, pet theory is to do with the production lines. but tigers and panthers were both built at henshel so its a weak one. Historians both professional and amateur have been talking about this for decades. if there are any factual pictoral examples they were never released during Glasnost,
There is a such pattern in the "Musée des Blindés", in Saumur, FRANCE. But not on a Tiger 2.
when are we able to see a new TigerII/105mm model
They just took the Tiger II P chassis and added the turret, which is shoddy work. The Tiger II H chassis has differences from the Tiger P.
The Tiger II P chassis is no different from the Tiger II H; it is one and the same. The only difference, as is well known, was the turrets (you can read more in my article on the Tiger II in the WT wiki:https://wiki.warthunder.com/703-king-of-tanks ).
What are the differences? I might do a scale model of one in near future so I'm curious
The model looks great, my only nitpick is the Zimmerit coating. Do you have a source for Tiger II tanks having that pattern? IIRC only StuGs had the waffle pattern...
Panthers..had zimmerit squares exclusively, though some are more obvious than others.Stugs had 'squares' and what for the sake of clarity, call standard Zimmerit, but no idea what the mix is. It contained a lot of Benzine so it could catch fire at very high temperatures, lesser of two evils.
could you fix suspension for t-34/85? for now it has wrong angle for front wheel and track it should be like in other t-34s f.e 100 or 76
Anything you feel isn't right, make a report in the tech section of the forums.
Looks awesome, shame it came bundled with a sizable engine nerf...
Good work! Will there be more model updates for other tanks in the future?
Yes of course. Devs update things frequently with updates.
if we're gonna keep up the remodelling process of older stuff every update then im hooked
As with the previous Tiger II, this looks phenomenal! Can we expect a model rework for the Jagdtiger soon as well?
I like how clean the newer models look. some older and earlier models of the game look too dirty/rusted to the point of being unrealistic.
