Operation Judgment – The Attack on Taranto Harbour

Admiral Sir Andrew Cunningham ordered the attack on Taranto to take place on the night of 21st October – the anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. However, a number of delays such as a fire onboard the carrier HMS Illustrious and contaminated fuel forced a delay to the attack, and a reduction in the strike force.

Hawker Hurricane Mk I

War Thunder Birthday: how it was

On the 1st of November we celebrated the second anniversary of War Thunder open test launch! Epic specials and discounts pleased our players all over the world. The pinnacle event was of course the Celebration at the Moscow Cyber Stadium, where War Thunder fans could meet the developers, support their favourite team in the tournaments, get prizes and gifts and of course play the game.

Operation Crossbow

Slovak Air Force

In March 1939, when Czechoslovakia ceased to exist and was occupied by Wehrmacht, Czechoslovakian air force consisted from six aviation regiments. Only one of them, though, was located in Slovakia – Aviation Regiment 3, bearing name of Aviation General Milan Rastislav Štefánik.

Closing of the Battle of Britain

After the conclusion of the “Battle of Britain day” on September 15th, the conflict for the skies over England had changed and evolved massively since the initial stages. Wilfred Stanley Arthur

Wilfred 'Woof' Stanley Arthur was officially enlisted in the RAAF on 4 September 1939, after an initial course selection and was sent to 22 Squadron RAAF. He was awarded his flying badge on 2 March, 1940.
