For many types of vehicles that aren't equipped with super sturdy armour, attacks from the flank and ambushes are one of the main ways to achieve victory. The SPz 12-3 LGS, the main prize of the new War Thunder Battle Pass season, is one of such vehicles — and that's why this season is called “Armour Breaking Ambusher”!
Note: from season 12 onwards, Battle tasks and some battle pass challenges can be completed in Air or Ground SB!
To receive Battle Pass rewards, you need to regularly log into the game and complete tasks and challenges. Each level of Battle Pass will earn you a prize, be it a player icon, a loading screen, a title, decals, decorations, or new premium vehicles!

A German S-38 series torpedo boat that received updated armament of a pair of 40mm Bofors auto cannons, new torpedo equipment and a navigational radar in Italian service. Its excellent speed and handling allow it to easily perform torpedo attacks, capture points and manoeuvre among islands and rocks.
A carrier-based torpedo bomber with a new experimental Homare 23 engine. A fast and agile aircraft for its class, made even better thanks to a more powerful engine, it is very comfortable to carry out dive or level bombing.
APC SPz 12-3 (SPz lg) equipped with an American M40A1 106 mm recoilless cannon with HEAT rounds. It handles off-road and low hills with ease and pierce through defences of most tanks — it's a real Armour Breaking Ambusher!

About the Battle Pass
If you’ve got two Coupon Upgrades from stages in the previous season, then you can claim the new Battle Pass for free! Exchange them in the purchase menu of the Armour Breaking Ambusher season.
Battle Pass is a seasonal event that allows the players to earn many rewards, from Silver Lions and boosters to exclusive season prizes: decorations, profile icons and premium vehicles. The rules are simple: you earn progress points and use them to open new stages, earning valuable prizes in the process.
You can open new stages and receive awards at any time during the season.
How to participate
Play
- You get progress points every day for entering the game.
- From 1 to 5 points.
Complete Battle Tasks
- See Battle Task descriptions in the game and get progress points for completing them.
- From 2 to 5 points.
Complete Season Challenges
- Season Challenges are very similar to Battle Tasks. One Challenge is available at the season’s start. Every week you get another one or two challenges, three more can be unlocked by opening stages.
- 30 points.

A slightly different S-Boat (again), a slightly different B7A2, and a "We have IFV at home." This is one of the worst battle passes yet, and I've come to expect nothing else. Bring back the unique low-tier vehicles, those are more fun than most of the higher vehicles I've seen since then.
How are we in 2023 and there are still battlepass challenges which force you to play naval. Why can't it be a choice between destroying naval or ground units. Naval is by far the least played mode and forcing people to play it with the challenges is ridiculous and further discourages it.
You do not need to fulfill all challenges to get vehicles.
the SPZ should have been researchable especially because the Raketenautomat ended up there, they should have switched spaces. i am tired of gaijin constantly ignoring production numbers and service history. This vehicle will end up behind a time limited event/BP so nobody can obtain it in the future
bad to very bad vehicles in this BP.. every BP .. has become worst and worst.... and how form 4 vehicles we have 3 is amazing .. note that the majority of the players dont play naval.. but have to get one ship..... fix the BP .. avoid the bad choices.. like the B7A2 that could be a normal tree airplane.. japan at that BR has MANY OPTIONS as premiums...... the same and for the SPz 12-3 even .. Germany has many options already to the tree to not need it.and premiums.. so.
No thanks! It looks nice, but I always decide to grind it or not, by taking a look at the challenges list.
you really need to start adding prototype vehicles, i.e. ah-63 or ah56, the TOG, M113/FV432, or peru's ALACRAN, ol 666 the B-17 with 12 50 cals plus one for the pilot.
