The “Red Skies” update is almost here! While the development team is finishing work on the update, we are describing another useful game mechanic coming to War Thunder tank battles in the upcoming “Red Skies” release.
Now light tanks and squadmates can help extinguish fires. The new mechanic works in a similar way as repair assistance: you need to drive up to a burning vehicle, wait for the indicator of assistance for firefighting, and after holding the help button, the ally will stop burning. In this case, one kit of fire-fighting equipment on the helper tank will be depleted.
The new mechanic works for burning tanks that are not able to extinguish the fire on their own - the FPE kit has run out or has not yet been installed. The firefighting assistance function makes light tanks even more useful on the battlefield, as well as improving the survivability of allies in a squad.

Credit where credit is due. Good job Gaijin.
took the devs 3 or 4 years to listen to the players, even though PhlyDaily had made it public when he voiced the player community opinions about game mechanics that could improve the game
Can we just refill FPE in the capture point? Then this mechanic will be more useful
Will the Centurion Mk.5 AVRE also be able to do this?
I ASSUME so. Good question Xanthro.
Really great change, hopefully we can see FPE replenishment on caps soon?? All in all, this patch looks pretty nice gameplay and balance wise. Now...can you release it??
Make parts and FPE free/Naval still doesn't have lowered amounts for parts and FPE like tanks.
Love this changes!! How long before we can swap shells without having to shoot the one we have loaded and potentially reveal our position? It would be great to be able to swap shells like in real life with obviusly a load/unload timer!!
Fire extinguishers should be refillable on capture points. All in all, all the "consumables" (see ammo, crew and fire extinguishers) should be replenishable on spawns. Change my mind ... Of course, apart from the fact that repair kits and fire extinguishers should not be unlockable modules. Especially on ships where their research costs have not been reduced as on tanks. BUT IT IS ONLY SUCH A DETAIL !!!
pls gib for naval forces too
i see so many people commenting and saying that FPE should be resuplyable on caps and in spawn and so on but i disagree actually because from own experience i dont get burned out that often and when i do yeah i get mad but i know though that its probably cus i didnt protect my sides or something but i do think that if someone does go ahead and help put out a fire then that person should get like a ticket to be able to get that 1 FPE back or 2 if they used 2 but its not that necesary though
Fair point. I think maybe only getting one more total would be fine. But more than that would probably not be good for the game.
