In the upcoming economy update we will focus on the overly expensive repair of heavy bombers. Repair prices, awards for base bombing and costs for suspended weaponry will be corrected and all this will make flying out in heavy bombers much less risky and more affordable for average players. This will of course have an effect on any kind of bombing attack from all bomb capable aircraft.
In addition to the automatic balancing (manual adjustment being done regularly after major updates) of Battle Ratings in War Thunder, there is also an automatic algorithm that is responsible for the game economy. Among its tasks are also the adjustment of repair prices depending on the average earnings of the specific vehicles. Bombers possess base destruction as a unique goal which brings greater income, however, heavy bombers find themselves in a situation over time where prices for repair automatically increase to a substantial amount. This has made flying out in them an economically risky business for players.
Repair cost of some bombers will be reduced !
To solve this problem it would not be enough to simply reduce the award for base bombing and therefore the repair cost because even within one rank the aircraft may have very different carrying capacities which would result in a situation where lightweight bombers would receive a low amount of awards. We believe that the optimal solution is an algorithm that adjusts the award value for base bombing based on the current bomb load. This in turn will reduce the repair cost of some bombers and will not affect the total income of the vehicles even with a low bomb load in any battle result.
For example: a Tu-2S-44 (BR 6.0) with 2,000 kg of bombs will receive a decent award for successful base bombing and the B-24D-25-CO (BR 6.0) with 3,600 kg bombs in turn will not reflect twice the repair costs of the Tu-2S.
The algorithm will affect only awards for base bombing and will not affect other battle awards in any way. So bombers will still retain the ability to provide their pilots with stable Silver Lion earnings.
Full table
The data presented in the table is preliminary and may change during the development process.
We constantly revisit and revise economy changes and will look again at all areas. For now we plan to make these specific changes that affect all bomb capable aircraft at the beginning of October. We would be happy to receive your opinions and suggestions on this topic.

Well, this just proves one of the following points, either someone didn't do the math right, or this is yet another sneaky way of squeezing grind to push players to premium only. sure they advertise "-20% in repairs" but when you actually open the table you will see in some cases earnings have been nerfed by almost 50%!!!! statistically backpeddling and making things even worse! what is even the point of upgrading bomber payloads now if they are going to be practically redundant?!
Almost 50%? Check out the Lincoln. It's closer to 30% of the old payout (in AB)
And this is the day bomber gameplay died..... -20% repair is nice, then you open the table and fine rewards are nerfed to -50%. so players will have to do a HEAP more just to break even with the new repairs. should of just ripped the band-aid off and removed bombers from the game entirely. better than torturing us players with false illusions of enjoyable content. I am not happy with this at all... Gaijin better refund me the Eagles I spent on the B-57B which is now redundant...
Like this comment if you dislike the change !
So, the conclusion: don't play bombers.
More like: don't play this game.
I'm real glad I haven't researched any bombers past the B25, cause that would be a waste of rp and sl, seriously Gaijin, why are you ruining your own game?
It's good to see repair costs down but the rewards don't need to be decreased by that much. The most unfortunate thing here is that they will NOT listen to those who play the game. I understand that it's a FREE TO PLAY game and you need to make money by people buying premium accounts and vehicles but you you're not supposed to force people into buying things to be able to have more fun. You're supposed to make people want to reward your efforts by making the game better and listening to us.
Basically the more your repair cost gets reduced the less you can actually earn in a match by not dying. If your repair cost is 30% of the old value, your rewards are now 30% of the old value as well. Even for planes that see no reduction in repair cost (PV-2D is dropping from 5570 to 5535) you still get paid only 60% of the old value per payload.
Alexsis8, And to make matters worse, the listed repair cost is for a stock plane.
Gaijin I AM SURE YOU NEVER PLAY ARCADE. If you play a bomber in arcade you will see that 90% of time you will die BEFORE launching a SINGLE BOMB. You will see that 99% of time you WON'T HAVE SCORT and when you have it is about 30 seconds only. Even when you reach 8k high with a bomber, you will be followed and die 90% of time you reach so high (off course, 9/10 of times by a BF-109 overpowered for years against everything). It we dive for ground targets, we won't be able to pay the bombs.
If you play an arcade game with bomber, you have the luck to don't die and drop some bombs and your team loses... you will now receive like 5k money, will spend 3k on bombs, 3k on repair and 12k buying upgrades. You will be 13k more poor. I never played bomb for money as it was IMPOSSIBLE ON ARCADE and now I would even sell the bombers if I could, they are USELESS, sadly. The japoneses even have rewards lower than bomb custs. As a american could won 900 SL for each pass jap = -50.
To give arcade a chance to be fun, you need to maintain the reduced bomber repair, increase bomb rewards 50% for bombers, 100% for japonese bombers, increases ground (artilhery, AAA, armored car and so on) increase by 3-7x higher, because you pay 1k to kill it and receives like 200 lions. Increases bomber respaw by 2km higher. Also upgrade custs should decrease 50%... if we have bombers on the game, you have heavy fighters and the game won't be BF109 against BF 109, everyone hates it.
And don't forget that ppl miss bombs, that your friends kill bases before your bombs hit the base and that you drop bombs on ground targets but gaijin randomly explodes it, by some random times, a tank or ground target from each side will instantly and without any reason explodes and the bombs that you PAID to drop will hit NOTHING and you will won't score point, you will lose lions and ppl actually QUITS the game as they have like 20 vehicles to buy but NO MONEY (I am rich but my friends POOR)
