In the upcoming economy update we will focus on the overly expensive repair of heavy bombers. Repair prices, awards for base bombing and costs for suspended weaponry will be corrected and all this will make flying out in heavy bombers much less risky and more affordable for average players. This will of course have an effect on any kind of bombing attack from all bomb capable aircraft.
In addition to the automatic balancing (manual adjustment being done regularly after major updates) of Battle Ratings in War Thunder, there is also an automatic algorithm that is responsible for the game economy. Among its tasks are also the adjustment of repair prices depending on the average earnings of the specific vehicles. Bombers possess base destruction as a unique goal which brings greater income, however, heavy bombers find themselves in a situation over time where prices for repair automatically increase to a substantial amount. This has made flying out in them an economically risky business for players.
Repair cost of some bombers will be reduced !
To solve this problem it would not be enough to simply reduce the award for base bombing and therefore the repair cost because even within one rank the aircraft may have very different carrying capacities which would result in a situation where lightweight bombers would receive a low amount of awards. We believe that the optimal solution is an algorithm that adjusts the award value for base bombing based on the current bomb load. This in turn will reduce the repair cost of some bombers and will not affect the total income of the vehicles even with a low bomb load in any battle result.
For example: a Tu-2S-44 (BR 6.0) with 2,000 kg of bombs will receive a decent award for successful base bombing and the B-24D-25-CO (BR 6.0) with 3,600 kg bombs in turn will not reflect twice the repair costs of the Tu-2S.
The algorithm will affect only awards for base bombing and will not affect other battle awards in any way. So bombers will still retain the ability to provide their pilots with stable Silver Lion earnings.
Full table
The data presented in the table is preliminary and may change during the development process.
We constantly revisit and revise economy changes and will look again at all areas. For now we plan to make these specific changes that affect all bomb capable aircraft at the beginning of October. We would be happy to receive your opinions and suggestions on this topic.

oh boy, another great 'fix' while nothing is done about baseline structural issues.
Repair costs are a start but I want to see more improvements to bombers. They are my least used vehicle type for numerous reasons.
Cant you just fix bombers? it was actually fun and could make money in the past. those days are long gone now though. we just want to actually be able to fly bombers without taking a huge hit to the bank account when we die. we also want to be able to actually still make money when we die so long as we actually did our job as a bomber. i am grateful that the repair cost will be lower but by lowering rewards you effectively changed nothing. i just want to fly bombers and not feel punished for it
Just stop it. Just lower the repair costs of bombers so people will actually use them. I haven't flown out my B-29 in nearly 2 years now because I don't want to go literally BANKRUPT. This isn't helping at all. Lowering the repair cost but then decreasing reward gains? We all know you guys want bombers dead at this point, first its 4 bombers per game (alright, fine), then its insane repair costs, now lower rewards. And we're still waiting on bomber cockpits all these years later. What a joke.
Still ignoring that Kamikaze is a final act. Valuing a returned aircraft in ALL modes is totally missing. IF you can get back to base after downing or bombing a target that should have a HUGE RP Reward.. particularly Bombers!! if fighters were rewarded Hugely! for keeping bombers alive or kills over their bases. and less for spawn farming. you may bring about positive change.. this is more "shuffling deck chairs on the Titanic". Sadly no mention of gameplay!! just economics.. Its a game!!
I just feel as a tanker I can't win, repair cost negates profit at high tier, and at low tier I can't effectively research my high tier stuff, and having to climb trees keeps zero SL in the bank. Be nice to see you give some love to those only have tanks as their main grind/loadout.
I do not like this. Please reconsider. I have premium and even I sometimes struggle with SL gains. This does not seem to help.
Wow, I expected repair costs to decrease a little bit, and for bombing a base to make you more. Instead, I get information that the TU-4 no longer will break even on a base, and that SL gains are nearly halved in most cases. I don't know who thought of this, but instead of a buff, we get a bomber nerf. I'm really disappointed in 1.91 and the subsequent changes, I hope you all on the War Thunder dev team listen for once and realize that this is a mistake.
All I'm getting from this is that Gaijin is absolutely terrible at math. This makes Bombers MORE expensive to fly with payloads because they don't earn the SL from bases to actually cover the cost.
*ironic applause* wow what a rework, this is why jets in RB are so rare but wait chopper can spawn with missles without any trouble and the English one also with ATGM nice gaijin you are always a step forward everybody
