Naval Battles testing will be available for all who purchased Naval packs!
Test features:
- New offshore location “Northern Port”, based on the coastline of Spitsbergen, has been added.
Changes and improvements in game mechanics:
- For vessels with separate armament groups: in the case a player chooses a specific armament group, the rest may still continue fire, including the main calibre weapons.
- Target selection changed for secondary and AA weapons. You may now manually select targets for them.
- If target is selected manually, the target remains selected even if you turn the camera away, rangefinder follows the target and sends range data to the respective weapons. In order to cancel the current selection you should either choose another target or just click designated “select target” button at any empty space.
- To update range data in RB you should use “select target” on this target again.
- View from sights has been improved: vessel model and fume from tubes no longer block the view.
- An option to aim at a point on the surface has been added — it activates with “Targeting at the point" command.
- An option to lock on target in a mode without markers has been added.
- Torpedo markers have been changed.
- When you lock on target in RB you now have lead marker for torpedoes.
- Water visuals have been updated - wave structure is more detailed.
- New modification for vessels has been added - artillery support. Works similar to artillery modification in ground battles.
- Vessel dynamics updated. Vessel performance during maneuvering, acceleration and stopping are more realistic.
List of available vessels:
Germany:
- LS-1
- S-38b
- R-301
- AF D1
USA:
- PT-6
- Higgins PT-71
- SC-497
- PC-451
Known bugs
- AI controlled weapons may sometimes not account for landscape.
- Short range limitations in using artillery support.
It’s very simple. Become the owner of one of the pre-order packs in the Gaijin store. Your purchase will automatically make you a member of the beta test.
In addition, the set contains some fantastic game bonuses, including a unique premium craft which will be available in beta test. Please note! Game sessions for the first testing stage will be available in special Events (Events and Specials - Naval Battles) at specific times, several times a week.
Do you own an early access package? Congratulations, for you it’s easy!
Launch the game as normal and you will be presented with the option to download the main testing files on joining one of the test events, there is no requirement for a different launcher. After this, visit the game’s official forum, log in with your account and check out the special forum section!
We’ve also opened an application for players who want to participate but haven't purchased the packs for the closed beta test, which starts later. You can send in an application and we’ll review you as a candidate for the role of captain on a military vessel.
Send ApplicationAttention! You can participate in the testing from no more than two PC’s.
In the special forum section, you can find out about the testing schedule and news. You can also discuss future naval vessels with the developers. We hope to see you there.

Awesome! I was hoping naval testing was going to take place this weekend. I'm eager to try out the new ships and gameplay mechanics with the stunning new graphics engine. Thank you, Gaijin! o7
I won 4th for the valentines day competition and when i try to play it says that I have to buy a pack. I asked support for help when I couldn't be reached for the competition award last month and they gave me my eagles, though not naval access seemingly.
You need to go back to Support for this. It is an account issue. They deal with this.
Keeps Crashing on macOS High Sierra 10.13.3, Figured that you guys should know about this
Issue is known and being discussed in the Mac Technical Forums. Please check there. This is about Naval ships.
German Antarctic Base confirmed
Neuschwabenland :D Gaijin should add german ufos then.
UFO's and Moon bases too? :D
Do we still need to use the WarthunderDEV login to access this?
Sorry, exe file, not login
War thunder dev i'm experiencing crashing problems and i have lost lions from being kicked all the time is there a way for you guys to fix the problems before i have no money left please like really please i have already lost 20-50k lions from being the crashes
from the crashes i meant
not too happy to play with PT boats... Gaijin could have did a full blown out naval expansion, instead i see PT boats... Not spending $40s for a PT boat, then for some reason you all have the U.S PT boa $44.99 with 3000 eagles. You all are putting your U.S customers off with this crap. Not spending more money to play my own country, faction on a F2P game.
But when(if it does) will the navy be available for players that do not spend money on the game? Also would we be able to fight in ground RB in those maps where thees also a water body?
I bought the 1124 MRLS pack and i cant join the pre beta test, what am i doing wrong and if this pack cant have access to it because its germany vs USA then i want a full refund because the only reason i bought it is so i could play and nowhere does it say specific packs have access to specific pre beta tests.
**Would have been nice to be alerted that a 'giant download' was manditory with this "Naval Test pre-beta testing schedule" news post. :-)
