In “The New Era” we did not forget about some of our older vehicles: A Po-2 cockpit which has been created by our players will be implemented in the game with this major update with help from our Revenue Share program! Under the terms of the program for a quality cockpit for the aircraft the author will receive a fixed reward. We would like to remind you that depending on the model’s complexity authors of cockpit models may receive between 1,500 and 8,000 USD!
The author of the model and textures Gadzhimurad "CrIcKeT" Bayramov talks about the creation of the Po-2 cockpit:
In the summer of 2015 I joined a troop of volunteers that were engaged in the restoration and maintenance of an exhibition to proper condition. In the museum I saw many vehicles that have been recreated in War Thunder and I had an idea: Why shouldn't I create a cockpit for aircraft that for various reasons did not get the cockpits (Ed.: All aircraft in the game have at least dimensional prototypes of cockpits now).
I didn't have much experience working in 3D editor software and I decided to start with some simple cockpits - something like the Po-2. Also by not having much experience working with textures I chose at first a piece of software where I found it possible. I started with Substance Painter software, which can work with PBR textures (War Thunder uses PBR renders). This software has significant functionality that makes it convenient to work simultaneously in all channels of textures as well as a friendly interface that allowed me to understand it in just a couple of days. And so, slowly, assisted by periodical help from developers i created the cockpit.

wow, just wow. Great work whoever did this!
Did Po-2 pilots really just sit on a grill? Man those pilots sure had a six pack on their asses after a flight.
Not sure about the Po-2 Pilots, but the Brits used their parachutes as a seat when they entered the aircraft, so the Po-2 Pilots may have done the same or had the same type of set up
Pacifica, Actually, just did a quick search and I was right, (link is safe for work):- http://www.rathbonemuseum.com/USSR/RAFFemPilot/SuFemPilot.html
Thank Stalin that we will be able to get the amazing PO-2 in a possible event. THANKS GAIJIN I ACTUALLY LIKE WHAT YOU ARE DOING. PLEASE KEEP IT UP. :D
I've got the PO-2 but the more important question is... Will we be able to get the E-100 any time soon? :3
the devs have said many times that they do not have enough time to do everything, especially these "cosmetic" tasks, then why not work more often with modellers and pay them as outsourced workers? it does't need to be cockpits alone, imagine that one variant of a vehicle already ingame everyone keeps asking about but the devs have other priorities, if someone can make a nearly ready model of it just pay them and add it to the game, after a final tweak, like you do to any of your artists
btw, they do not have to be premiums, in fact all things considered Gaijin probablymakes more money with non-premium than premium vehicles because the later are a one-off purchase while the non-premiums come with several ways to spend money on them, from skins to talismans or even simply converting RP to unlock them or their modifications it is particularly true for certain vehicles, like a M18 Hellcatt, that perform really well but do not have the premium bonus in RP, a talisman solves that
armando30, if someone really likes a vehicle in game, or is simply more successefull with it than any other, then he will probably be tented to buy a talisman for it and use it to grind for other vehicles, these type of purchases are more accessible to a larger number of players than simply buying a full-cost premium, what's better, 5000 players spending 32€ on a M46 Tiger (6090GE) or 20000 spending 9 to 13€ on a talisman for the researcheable M46? I would guess the second option, + the cost of the skin
PO-2 is 2-OP!
Will you add the Greif bomber for the Germans to research?
At a later time it is a possibility
this is awesome but there is one problem, no PO 2
indeed, other problem is also no update... yet.
the most empty cockpit i ever saw.......
That seat is... ow... I hate to be a po-2 pilot. I hope to get the Po-2 in the next event though, just to fly for fun.
