In the next major War Thunder update, we're going to add a very unusual location for air Arcade mode that we've named Guiana Highlands. Battles at this location will start at altitudes of more than 6,000 meters above sea level, with the entire area divided into stages, each with its own targets and unique requirements for waging battle.
Our artists came up with the idea for the location after learning about Mount Roraima in Brazil. This unique mountain with a flat summit is a true natural wonder – a gargantuan mountain plateau rising up against the landscape. The plateau is partially obscured by a huge cloud that constantly hangs over Mount Roraima. This place inspired the great Arthur Conan Doyle to pen his iconic novel “The Lost World,” it’s a truly mysterious corner of our planet!

right, so this map is for mid to high tier planes right? Cause id like to point out that some aircraft simply cant operate in any combat like manner, if at all, at 6,000 meters. otherwise, sounds cool!
Makes me want to play air, oh wait I suck at that, I would love to drive tank there
Great work WarThunder! Can't wait to try out this map! The next patch looks promising!
YES! Taste the glory of Brazilian geography! Now seriously though, starting the battle at a higher altitude will certainly be pretty awesome. I just hope bombers are given enough altitude as well so they can actually do something other than being just big fat RP piñatas for the fighters.
Beautiful place. Hope to add more interesting map, as the famous cities, such as Paris, Beijing, Tokyo or Berlin at the cold war period.
The Roraima Tepuy is not just in Brazil, in the middle of three countries: Venezuela, Guiana and Brazil. If you want to climb it, the only way to do it is from the Venezuelan side. The highest point at the mountain is called Maverick (in the Venezuelan side as well) and is 2.810 mts. Thanks for continue giving us new and exciting air maps :)
In the Brazilian side you can find the biggest lake on it, named Gladys Lake and a very huge corner of the tepuy (flat mountain) called La Proa, wich means The Bow (boat). The Guiana side is the less explored area and it has zone called The Labyrinth where you can get easily lost, specially when is cloudy.
I just want to have a desert map for Air Realistic... Is that too much of a question. A Plain, flat desert map... So the camos that Gaijin is so proud of, can actually fly in their righteous location...
Exellent a new map into the mix is appreciated . More please
