Fellow pilots and tankers!
Today, all squadrons in War Thunder can compete in a new type of squadron battle - the Thunder League Battlegrounds in the 7x7 format!
The combined battles 7x7 format introduces a balanced vehicle setup that will change every 3 days. Vehicles that will be used are aircraft and ground vehicles from rank III to rank V. At the start, vehicles will be separated into 5 different setups. When the setups change, the leader board does not reset - this will happen once a month, after 2 full rotations of the setups.
The event will be available in the “Events and Tournaments” section in the game client every day from 16:00 GMT to 22:00 GMT and from 01:00 GMT to 07:00 GMT.
During the first 15 days, the event will run in test mode and squadrons who get to the top places will receive the following prizes:
- 1st place - 6 000 (the best 15 players of the squadron receive 400 each)
- 2nd place - 3 000 (the best 15 players of the squadron receive 200 each)
- 3rd place - 1 500 (the best 15 players of the squadron receive 100 each)
Attention! During the test run of the event there may be technical breaks due to changes in some of the event parameters.
When the testing phase is over, the prizes for squadrons after every 15 days (one full vehicle setups rotation) will be the following:
- 1st place - 12 000 (the best 15 players of the squadron receive 800 each)
- 2nd place - 6 000 (the best 15 players of the squadron receive 400 each)
- 3rd place - 3 000 (the best 15 players of the squadron receive 200 each)
Updated (26.7.2016):
Since the beginning of the Thunder League 7 vs 7 RB squadron battles we have seen many players asking for an Arcade Battles variant of the Thunder League 7 vs 7 squadron battles and therefore we have decided to add this mode to the game client.
The event will be available in the “Events and Tournaments” section in the game client every day from 16:00 GMT to 22:00 GMT and from 01:00 GMT to 07:00 GMT.
Prizes will be the same as in Realistic Battles, the first 15 days will be testing period.
Good luck on the battlefield!

if it has NO markes and is the same battle style as SQBS it will be a welcome addition to the game and could phase out the standard squadron battles, most people problem with the Esports is the markers, if it dosnt have those your on to a winner here with a constantly changing meta, well dont gaijin if that the case
All mayor esports game constantly change with balance and stuff ( csgo and dota ) and the teams adapt, why can't gaijin try?
While I see why you don't want makers, it does make the ULQ advantage go away somewhat and it is better for spectators to follow the battle. Please note that the marker is the last "spotted" position not necessarily where the tank is.
Rdy for some RB chalange even im Ab player 5000 H + maybe i can use the real planes/ tanks too :D
Will this be RB only? If yes, is there any plans to make something similar to AB and/or SB?
why not from 16:00 GMT to 07:00 GMT?
Sure this will be fun..!!!
Great job, been waiting a long time for this!
Can we buy the tri colour? If yes, then where and for how much
Could G make it a requirement that players must not have ULQ enabled in order of fair play.
