"Franz Josef Land"
The new location for naval battles called “Franz Josef Land” will become one of the northernmost locations in War Thunder. Here, players will witness the harsh lifeless expanses of plateau-like islands covered with basalt and permafrost glaciers. But even these uninhabitable islands have been mastered by man. Here you can find two polar stations, military bases, as well as a few abandoned villages.
In the Dominance mode for this location, we plan to add fortifications with a different set of weapons that provide fire support for bases. Destruction of such fortifications will grant players additional points. We want to make naval battles more varied and dynamic, and we're interested in your opinion of the new gameplay option. We look forward to your feedback as soon as the update is released!

I'm looking forward to it. War Thunder is the best naval sim on the market. I know hardcore naval players are a niche market but anything to explore more of this niche can only be a good thing.
Love the fortifications mechanics, been asking for this sort of thing for a while, its a great way to ease stock grinds especially since parts and fpe are still full rp cost despite it having been lowered in all other game modes

Nice to see new naval bases and it will certainly beat the current few bunkers dotted in a cliff face being near invulnerable, would be cool in the future if you got an escort landing force objective allowing for landing craft to assault these locations
Gooood, good. They finally add some AI static defenses to the naval mode. One step further to AI landing units on domination points.. I hope a day we will have gameplay similar to the old Battlestations Pacific games. Dinally more dynamism, can't wait!
A group already made a map like that, Phly has a video on it. Don't know if the map is downloadable or not. Wouldn't be hard for Gaijen to make a set of really fun PVE maps and modes, I'd definitely buy that if they released it like an expansion pack of sorts. I know they have a set of single player missions, but it seems they've been abandoned so long half of them don't work with modern game mechanics.
From my earlier experiences with Enduring Confrontation, such a mechanic in regular Domination mode would certainly be welcome. Once destroyed, will these fortifications remain destroyed, or will they respawn after a certain timespan (as in EC mode)?

Very interesting! Reminds me of the times where there were AT and artillery guns in Ground Battles. Always love to see some more dynamism, specially if they also come with additional rewards to help players with SL balances, RP grinds, etc!
love the fortification mechanic! Will you bring back the bot AA for ground RB (tested on ATTRhine map)? I remember them being ultra effective against casual p47 crash bombers making them a blessing for the team.
Looks so much different than any other naval map, I'm actually really excited to play this
