The first US land operation on Japanese ground began on Iwo Jima island on the 16th of February, 1945. American troops had to fight through the heavily fortified Japanese defenses.
From 11:00 GMT on the 18th of February until 11:30 GMT on the 23rd of February
Rewards
Completing the “Battle of Iwo Jima” task will bring you a battle trophy with one of the following rewards:
- 20-50% RP booster for 3-10 battles
- 20-50% SL booster for 3-10 battles
- 3-5 universal backup vehicles
- 1 day premium account
Task
Destroy 40/20/20 (AB/RB/SB) player vehicles whilst controlling the specified vehicles in random battles
Tasks can be completed only on vehicles from the list:
- USA: M4A2, LVT(A)(4), LVT(A)(1), F4U-1A (USMC), F4-1D, F6F-5
- Japan: Chi-Ha, Chi-Ha Kai, Chi-He, D4Y2, A6M3, A6M3 mod. 22, A6M5

I really like these small historical events, keep it up! The rewards need a little tweaking tough, a small amount of GE or a decal or something would be better than what we have now.
Decals take quite a bit of time to prepare, especially something unique for an event which was the entire point of this style over the more important ones that do include a decal. Honestly completely agree that a different reward would be preferable though. Backups are worthless and i often don't use the boosters I already have. 1d premium is eh but out of about 10 of these i've yet to get it. I'm honestly to the point where i'm kind of done trying. The rewards just aren't worth it
"I Agree!" These still require a bit of work because of the short duration. The current reward(s) really isn't worth it. I get more from the random loot boxes. It should be something you don't normally get in the course of daily logins. A camo, or decoration would make it worth doing.
Early M4s and Chi Ha Kai TD should be included

I remember there was a time when a historical battle happened, we would get a small event for it in game, normally just the Air RB version of the map, nowadays it's just tasks for trophies, really makes ya wonder what has happened over time...

Does this include the premium Chi He ?
My game is not showing the premium Chi He as eligible, baffling and disappointing. The premium T-34 (1st Gv.T.Br.) was eligible for a similar event the other week!!
So... how do you actually activate that 1 day premium? I have already done two of these task, but I really haven't find out that. Actually neither one of our squadron.
