Hey everyone! Today we wanted to go over some changes happening to the British ground forces tree soon.
After the release of the next major update, some vehicles in the British ground forces tree will be rearranged. These vehicles are marked with a special icon. We’re doing these changes with the aim at improving the structure of the tree, and for the convenience and order when adding various ground vehicles from Great Britain and Commonwealth countries in the future.
After the changes, the MBT line after the Vickers Mk.1 will focus on Commonwealth tanks and export MBTs. The right line will focus on light wheeled and tracked AFVs, classified in-game as light tanks.
With these changes, the ranks of the vehicles will remain the same. In addition, as you can see from the screenshot, there will be some changes to grouped vehicles as well.
We’re announcing theses upcoming changes in advance to give you the opportunity to plan your research path in the game at the current time, with the knowledge of how the British ground forces tree will look in the near future!

Comments will be premoderatedOh god this is a bad time to be researching the Olifant Mk.II, I have the Mk.1 but last I checked secondary folder tanks don’t count towards tech tree progression alone (might be untrue, correct me if I’m wrong), and I don’t particularly go for the Vickers tanks themselves.
Looks great and I hope that is how any future sub trees will be handled, instead of putting them all higgledy-piggledy down one side of the tree.
This makes no sense at all
This is a great change for the British tree, as it was quite cluttered before and might've been confusing for new players to navigate. I'd like to see this change made to other nations that would benefit from it as well.
Can we do this for China too? A nationalist/ROC tree parallel to the PLA tree?
I feel like these changes are good and all, but it's a massive pain when the vehicle you had researched before ends up shoved into the back of a folder, and the game requires players to go back and research the vehicle at the front of the folder, at full cost, in order to progress. Could you change this, either by giving the folder discount to the other vehicle in these circumstances, or by allowing players to progress with ANY of the vehicles in a folder, rather than just the first one?
Any plans to add an Actual South African Air Subtree anytime soon? Or at the very least any plans to remove the vehicle restrictions on the 61 mechanized battalion group decal? any answers please?
why? it made sense before, medium tank -> heavy tank/ vickers tanks -> TD -> SPAA and south africa, I don't get why we need to move them around, and especially in such a way that has no real logic
Wouldn't it be better if FV4005 and FV4004 Conway were grouped and similarly M109A1 and G6? I feel this way it would be better placed as vehicles would be segregated by their class and playstyle similarities.
YIPPIE!!!
