Tornado IDS WTD 61: A Premium Strike Aircraft for Germany at Rank VII
Features:
- Great bomb load!
- AIM-9L air-to-air missiles.
- High speed.
- Thrust Reverse.
Meet the Tornado IDS WTD 61!
The Tornado IDS WTD 61 is another representative from the Tornado family that is in service with the Luftwaffe. A spectacular aircraft capable of shining in different roles, the Tornado IDS WTD 61 is coming to War Thunder as an attack variant, and for pre-ordering, you’ll receive an awesome looking red and white camouflage ()! This aircraft will be a handy addition to your ground lineups thanks to its payload options, as well as being a great option in air modes thanks to its impressive high speed and useful air-to-air capability.
Let’s take a look at the specifics. The Tornado IDS WTD 61 is capable of carrying a good payload of 12 x 1000 lb Mk 83 bombs as well as free-fall parachute bombs, which can all be conveniently dropped with the help of a ballistic computer (CCIP). In terms of flight performance, as with all Tornado variants, this Tornado features variable-sweep wings, an air brake and engine thrust reverser that are perfect for maneuvering and aid in precisely dropping bombs in ground battles. That’s not all though, as it can also carry two fantastic AIM-9L air-to-air missiles, which are great for taking out enemy aircraft. To round it all off are the addition of flares and chaff to help provide defense against in-coming missiles.
Coming to War Thunder with the release of the upcoming major update, the Tornado IDS WTD 61 is available for pre-order right now in the Gaijin.Net store. For pre-ordering this pack, you’ll receive a special red and white camouflage and the “Ferocious” title!

Comments will be premoderatedAnother clone. It's just an Tornado from Event with the added bonuses of a premium machine.
If only tornados werent overtiered and nerfed to the ground.
Absolutly as long as they miss 2 aim9ls its max worth of 10.7
Will there be 2 devblogs today because there wasn't one yesterday?
there never is on monday
not how it works
what a boring dev
Great plane but unfortunately Gaijin removed the bases respawn so when you arrive you cant bomb your payload before the battle is over or if you go straight bombing you get a missile in your back, so now top tier bombing is kind of useless. Please gaijin, return the fast base respawn.
Yea I dont usually request stuff in devblog comments, but Gaijin you really need to reconsider this change, it has a huge negative impact on high tier air rb, especially for people who dont want to blindly rush straight towards bases and take a more tactical approach
Agreed, base respawning made Air RB liveable for strike aircraft at top tier, with no AF to attack and many players trying to base bomb at the same time, the bases respawning without a large time gap meant everyone could complete what they set out to do, even if it meant playing the slightly longer game to avoid being insta Fox 1’d. As an Avid Tonka enjoyer, this would make life easier, and I’d consider this premium a lot more.
Is this the same as the event one without the anti-ship missiles?
Ok, this is fine and all, but, like, no more C&P devblogs please...
Well it's definitely a plane.
Why would you want to cram so many vehicles that already exist in the game into the pack?
does this one get any guided bombs?
i hope it gets the LaGS missiles that were trailed on it, they are sidewinders adapted for use with laser guidance to turn them into light air to ground missiles.
Nope
