The Ardennes Offensive

On the morning of December the 16th, 1944, the German offensive on Western Front began after a powerful artillery preparation. The offensive in the Ardennes was considered the last large-scale offensive operation of the Wehrmacht in WWII.
From 11:00 GMT on the 16th of December until 11:30 GMT on the 19th of December
Rewards
Completing the “The Ardennes Offensive” task will bring you a battle trophy with one of the following rewards:
- 20-50% RP booster for 3-10 battles
- 20-50% SL booster for 3-10 battles
- 3-5 universal backup vehicles
- Random camouflage for ground vehicles of rank I-IV for USA or Germany from amongst those available to obtain in-game through achievements or purchase with GE.
- 1 day premium account
Task
- Destroy 40/20/20 (AB/RB/SB) player vehicles whilst controlling specified vehicles in random battles

I do object to including the P-47N-15 which was never deployed to Europe and wasn't even ready for combat until early 1945. The P-38J and P-38L should be added as well as the Hawker Typhoon. Yes, I know it's not American but Typhoons caught a German armored unit in the open on the northern edge of the breakthrough near Malmedy and laid waste to it.
I agree they've left out a great number of vehicles. Gaijin no longer put effort into events like they used to =( I loved when they would have a special map up and event for it. I remember a Russian Air Offensive one, where you could earn a white rose. Tier 1/2 Russian planes fighting Tier 3 Germany, you EARNT that decal. It was so, much, fun. Now, eh, go do it in arcade *sadface*
This is a nice excuse to fly the P-51 without premium, though the rewards probably won't match the sacrifice, it'll be kinda fun :D
Nevermind, I got outclimbed by a Zero and a 109 2km below me at stall speed managed to climb to me and put a cannon shell up my wing, I'mm gonna go play the M10

oh so you're telling me USA should be the one in the event instead of France being it's territory, it's battle, etc, even if France didn't make their own tank at this time there's enough American tank in the french tech tree for this event
you should check your geography ... because the Ardennes Offensive was in Belgium and Luxembourg :D

Love that Gaijin is trying to do more events, but with it weren't also so obvious that they're putting almost zero thought into them. What I would really love is if they took the form of Enduring Confrontation matches, utilizing the actual Ardennes map. And a top prize should be access to the M-24 TL, a hidden vehicle awarded during 2016's Thunder League giveaways. That would take very little time or effort on Gaijin's part, but would show real interest in making these events interesting.
